Re: Pi4 USB3 Unreliable

My problem is with USB3 and Wifi. on the PI4B. External SSD boots from either USB2 and 3, but when on USB3 the internal Wifi can't connect at all (sees networks but can't connect). I ended up with mouse and keyboard on USB3, as this way the Wifi works and SSD on USB2 is fast enough for my everyday u...

Re: Pi 4 USB Wifi and wireless keyboard problems

My experience: It all started when installing the new Raspberry OS, I found I now needed a wifi dongle to get decent wifi signal. Using a TP- Link WN-722N dongle I started then to have the keyboard dropping/repeating characters issue. My keyboard is not wireless. I went back to old Raspbian, because...

Re: Sticky keyboard syndrome

All right... Got rid of the WiFi dongle and keyboard is now working fine, so I can think of going back to USB boot. To do that I had to bring the wifi range extender gismo closer (anyway it was only 3 meter away, with only an wooden door inbetween and I had it programmed to max power...) With the ol...

Sticky keyboard syndrome

After putting my Pi 4B booting from an external drive (and installed the new Pi OS) I started experiencing a lack of keyboard responsiveness (USB cable keyboard connected to usb 2.0 port). When typing at an average speed, there were lots of missed keystrokes and sometimes key repeating engages even ...

Re: Enabling Sound on RPI4

Hello Folks: Recently, after a system update on the RPi4, I do not get any audio output on through the analog audio output jack. I am very frustrated and would like to know if there is anything I can do before I erase and reinstall the latest raspbian buster. Kindly post with all details as I am a ...

Re: No Sound on New Pi OS

I was able to get audio to work after tinkering with various things. It's possible that it was fixed when I deleted the ~/.asoundrc file, reselected "Analog", and rebooted. I had the audio stop working on a Pi 3b and 3b+ after doing an update yesterday (recently flashed current version of...

Re: Baby Monitor Audio Mains Hum

Hi, I have made a baby monitor from a Raspberry Pi 3 B+, Pi Camera module v2 and USB microphone. It works quite well, except that I have a bad 50 Hz (I'm in the UK) hum on the audio. I am using a Raspberry Pi stamped 2.5 A 5 V power supply which is branded Stontronics on the plug itself. The power ...

Re: USB-MSD boot EEPROM update - 2020-05-28

I see some others have had my same experience... Fresh RasPiOS (5/27) install to SD. Update/upgrade. Copy to SSD. Remove SD. Boot. Make this post. That's all I did. That couldn't have been all you did, because the boot-loader needs to be updated, and that's not done through apt (yet). I followed th...

Re: USB-MSD boot EEPROM update - 2020-05-28

After having trouble cloning my SD card into the USB hard drive, I decided for a fresh OS install in the external drive with success. This is my setup now: Seagate Momentus Thin 2.5'' 500Gb HDD assisted by a Nedis Sata III/USB 3.1 HDD enclosure (with a JMicron Corp. JMS567 6Gb/s controler, tho the d...

Re: USB electrical heat/zap

I just bought the 3 amp Pi 4 power supply (had started getting more and more "thunderbolt" alarms with the 2.5 amp from the Pi 3B+, I guess due to warmer weather) so I could finally play with an external drive. The external drive is USB powered and has aluminium casing, and for the first t...

Re: PI 4 128gb SD card

Another trick I read somewhere, if there's no windows available, is using a camera to format the card (there's no file system menu, but I guess if the camera is old enough it will format in FAT32...). Then I could even use my android tablet to transfer NOOBS into the card.
