Re: Thumbsticks and Gamepad buttons

That's a great start, thanks! I'm gonna see if I can find a 5 wire fpc, I guess. Seems like there's a lot of different types I need to sort through: https://www.digikey.com/en/resources/connectors/ffc-fpc-flat-flex-connectors e. Searching for nintendo switch fpc specs, I found this https://www.aliex...

Thumbsticks and Gamepad buttons

My post isn't raspberry pi specific... Let me know if this is too off topic. I want to hook up two thumbsticks from a game controller to my raspberry pi. I'm thinking of trying to get either Nintendo 3ds or switch joysticks. I found these switch thumbstick modules here and I was wondering if anyone ...

Re: STICKY: The I2S sound thread. [I2S works]

Is it possible to run I2S pins through an I2C expander? For context, I'm thinking about buying a Pimoroni Hyperpixel , but this thing has a shield that covers (and uses) all 40 GPIO pins. I want to keep my sound circuitry though so I need some way to get more GPIO pins. The Hyper pixel supposedly ha...

Re: gpio display and hdmi display

so is it also possible to prioritize the hdmi over the GPIO display ? If you're curious about switching between the two, there's apparently a thread where someone did that: https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=44&t=91764&start=75#p662735 Disclaimer: I haven't gotten around to reading ...

Re: Need Adafruit 1.8 TFT help (init sequence maybe?)

Glad you got it working, and sorry for the misdirection earlier. No worries! I was going to ask around on the adafruit forums if these other things didn't work out. Your comment about the notro drivers being out of date was helpful, because they're not necessarily in sync with the ones in the raspb...

Re: Need Adafruit 1.8 TFT help (init sequence maybe?)

Sorry to post again so soon, but I made even more progress... fbcp works perfectly. On the first try! I had to adjust the rotate to 270 degress, since it apparently starts in portrait mode. (90 or 270 should be good depending on how you're holding the screen). https://i.imgur.com/Lwz4su6.jpg I so......

Re: Need Adafruit 1.8 TFT help (init sequence maybe?)

I'VE MADE SOME PROGRESS. Looking through the notro source code, I see that there are actually 2 devices that could be mine: "adafruit18" and "adafruit18_green". If I use adafruit18_green, the backlight comes on, but I see a black background instead. Promising??? Next, I wrote random stuff to framebu...

Re: Need Adafruit 1.8 TFT help (init sequence maybe?)

Small update: I have an arduino so I pulled that out and attached the LCD to it and uploaded a graphicstest sketch and it works perfectly. And I do need to run the greentab version of the init or else the picture has the wrong offset. So it's good to know that the soldering and the LCD are in good c...

Need Adafruit 1.8 TFT help (init sequence maybe?)

Hi, I'm trying to hook up a 1.8" TFT from adafruit to my raspberry pi 3 A+ model. Specifically, it's this product with a green tab on it. Looking around here and on the web, I was able to load notro's fbtft driver and use the "adafruit18" device. When I do this, however, I only get a white screen an...
