Re: Boot from USB stick?

Booting from USB is now possible in a much better way see:https://www.raspberrypi.org/blog/pi-3-b ... rage-boot/

Thanks RPF!

Re: Analogue audio testing

Are all the changes in the firmware (start.elf) and config.txt?
If yes then RISC OS and other OS's can easily benefit:-)

Re: Audio power (AUD_2V5) on B+ & Pi2

I've seen the two schematics at https://learn.adafruit.com/introducing- ... io-outputs the one at the bottom shows AUD_2v5 being used but doesn't show were it comes from! Or have I misunderstood your comment?

Audio power (AUD_2V5) on B+ & Pi2

I read that part of the better audio quality on a B+/Pi 2 is due to its 'cleaner 2.5V reference' I've studied the B+ schematics but can't find AUD_2V5 is the schematic for this available?
Is it derived from 5V or 3V3?

The suggested change has been made to RISC OS and it all now works:-)
Thanks.

Re: Setting PiZero USB to not be in OTG mode

Thanks very much gregeric. I'm pretty sure that gives me the information we need.
I think it would still be useful for all OSs to be able to set it in config.txt.

Setting PiZero USB to not be in OTG mode

From the tests I've done Raspian doesn't need an OTG USB cable but RISC OS does. How can this be set in software? Setting it in config.txt would be a very useful way of doing it! The tests that led me to the conclusions above: Using this 3 port hub with OTG/CHARGE switch http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/p...

Re: Beta testers needed - HW cursor testing

Almost as ugly (or worse).
Could you in software check for position>2048 and then swap to 512+16 pixel wide cursor (left 512pixels transparent) and offset 512 pixels left?

Re: Beta testers needed - HW cursor testing

As I think RISC OS had a hardware pointer on prototype Pi's I suspect it pre-dates? your work!
But I'll ask.

Re: Beta testers needed - HW cursor testing

RISC OS uses a hardware cursor. Adrain Lees (your ex Broadcom colleague) who I believe wrote the Pi's RISC OS hardware cursor support code writes on the RISC OS forum:https://www.riscosopen.org/forum/forums/5/topics/3181?page=1#posts-43078 "This is almost certainly not a RISC OS/ARM-side issue, beca...

Re: Beta testers needed - HW cursor testing

I use RISC OS which I believe uses a hardware cursor. The problem I have is that in screen modes greater than 2048 pixels horizontally, the cursor disappears at 2048. I'm using: fake_vsync_isr=1 framebuffer_swap=0 gpu_mem=64 init_emmc_clock=100000000 hdmi_group=2 max_framebuffer_width=4096 max_frame...

Re: Order limit?

Sending orders out singly isn\'t very efficient for customers or the foundation, I\'ll probably wait for the second batch so I can get two together.
n.b. Apart from availability I doubt there will be many takers for Model As!

Re: I2C programming

AIUI Some I2C devices use 1-6V signalling others only 5V, do we know yet which will be used?
Also is I2C on the GPIO connector or the other set of pins shown on the final layout?

Re: Cases for the Raspberry Pi

<t>First, apologies if I missed the answer. I'm sure I read that the Foundation plans on doing a Case themselves in the new year. Can you give any ideas of the type of case and ball park price. I (and others I expect) have ideas for a number of cases to offer in a small scale commercial way, but cou...
