Re: How to install Win 10 IoT on rasp 3?

Which means I have to install the dashboard on my pc and i was trying to avoid it Any reason why? It's a tiny app and unobtrusive. Note you'll need Windows 10 and Visual Studio to deploy UWP apps to IoT and to get the debug SDK on there. Also, current Windows 10 IoT preview builds for Pi 3 do not s...

Re: Windows 10 IoT Core Insider Preview - Build 14295

Quick question - on a Pi 3, being these are insider preview builds, do I have to manually update by reflashing the SD? No upgrade option?

i.e. flash the SD and thus have to set it up from scratch again, redeploy Visual Studio debug/SDK etc?

Thanks.

Re: pi 3 support

Onboard WiFi & BT on Pi 3 with current latest Insider Preview build 14262 of IoT... no go. It's a fair question for the OP to ask as it's not immediately clear unless you stumble on the correct page from MS... http://ms-iot.github.io/content/en-US/win10/WhatsNew.htm Coming Soon in a future relea...

Ah, thanks for the explanation. That's actually quite cool then. Didn't think you'd be able to swap the card while running.

Re: Solved the "'the disk drive is empty' - CANCEL/RETRY" er

Wow! Perfect. That's exactly the problem I was having. Assumption was from various posts that it could have been an issue with particular SD cards or even certain Pi models, but turns out it's as simple as this! I flicked the spring back into place and now RISC OS boots perfectly. Strange though tha...

Re: Symptom: RISC OS not recognising its partition

I get Wheezy working fine on my Pi but have this problem not seeing the drive on the RISC OS image. I've tried through various card reader/writers, internal and external, as most wouldn't work with my cards (some SD HC), but the one built into my netbook works fine for Wheezy and certainly seems to ...

Re: downloading Win32DiskImager

True, but when there's been reports of trashed drives with suspicion the tool wrote the image to the wrong device due to a possible bug, then it's not worth the risk. dd on the other hand goes back a long way and is very mature. Not heard myself of dd writing to the wrong drive so leaves any error j...

Re: downloading Win32DiskImager

I'd go further and recommend Win32DiskImager is pulled entirely as a link because the latest version carries a rather significant warning that it may trash your hard disc yet they still keep that version up. Despite some further confirmations of the bug! https://bugs.launchpad.net/win32-image-writer...
