Re: How to do time lapses with the Raspberry Pi

Still waiting for a good sun rise - something to do with sand pollution in the sky or some other annoyance! Anyway here is the code that I am using which seems fairly usable. # timelapse5.py import time import os duration = float(input("How many hours do you want to capture? ")) timebetween = float(...

Re: How to do time lapses with the Raspberry Pi

All sorted!! Sorry feel a bit of a muppet about the brackets! foldername = str(input("Please enter a name for the file folder ")) Also, from the terminal I was typing: sudo python timelapse4.py When I try: sudo python3 timelapse4.py (i thought it would automatically default to v3?) everything works!...

Re: How to do time lapses with the Raspberry Pi

This is what I have tried: # timelapse4.py import time import os duration = float(input("How many hours do you want to capture? ")) timebetween = float(input("How many seconds do you want between pictures? min 6 seconds ")) frames = int((duration * 3600)/timebetween) print "PiCam will create ",frame...

Re: How to do time lapses with the Raspberry Pi

Brilliant, the code to make a folder and save the images to that folder works a treat. Probably getting a bit carried away but I thought if the program asked for a folder name I could then organise them better and wouldn't get over-written. so I started like this: foldername = input("Enter name for ...

Re: How to do time lapses with the Raspberry Pi

Hi, I've used the code from 'option 1' which works perfectly. I just wondered if it possible for the image files created to be saved in a new folder, or should I create a new folder, save the code in there and run it from that location? I am a bit of a newbie but found the Geek Girl video and your c...

Re: screen

Thanks for all your replies. Sounds a little tricky, I think I'll save up and buy a monitor that I know works.

screen

Hi, I've been given a broken netbook and wondered if it was possible to reuse the screen with the Pi? (The screen did work before I took it all apart!) http://mystuff2014.yolasite.com/resources/DSC_0365.jpg I've carefully removed the screen and here are some pictures of the connectors http://mystuff...

Re: Steady Hand Game

I've reflashed my SD card with a more up-to-date image of Raspbian "wheezy" and typed the program out again using IDLE 3. It won't run under IDLE and I get an error message saying it needs to be run via 'root'. However, when I try it out using LXTerminal: sudo python steadyhandgame.py everything wor...

Re: Steady Hand Game

Thank you both.

Yes, my version of GPIO is 0.2 so that could well be the problem!
I guess using 0.4.1a will be OK? I was running it through Geany is that right too?

Alan

Steady Hand Game

Hi,
I'm trying to get the steady hand game working (from MagPi magazine issue 5) but get the following error message:

GPIO.setup(4, GPIO.IN, pull_up_down=GPIO.PUD_UP)
AttributeError: 'module' object has no attribute 'PUD_UP'

Please can anyone tell me what I've done wrong?

Many thanks,
Alan

Re: Scalextric Score Board

Hi Ian, This is just the project idea I had too! Unfortunately I have little experience using the Pi and Python and am slowly getting to grips with it. Currently I am experimenting the Pygame 'add on' as I think this could help and have been typing in this game from pcpro magazine (I think I could h...

Re: Stopwatch

Thank you Sleep Mode and MadCow. Sleep Mode, the link shows code that will take me a while to figure out! In Basic256 it seems fairly simple: keypressroutine: k = key if k = asc("1") then goto anotherroutine goto keypressroutine anotherroutine: MadCow, yes my goal is to have it just connected to the...

Stopwatch

Hi, I'm very much a novice with Python but I wanted to try to create a stopwatch that would start and stop with a keypress only. My eventual goal is to create a laptiming system using a Pi and the GPIO pins to count/time laps for my slot car (scalextric) track. My initial question is how can you ask...
