Re: Pi and Virtualbox

So I've been playing....a lot. Everything seems to work fine.Remote connecting into the Pi just to see video capabilities has been interesting and is acceptable for what I'm doing. So now lets run. Is there a way, if I have Virtualbox set to open when the host boots, to use the Pi4 as a thin client ...

Re: Ubuntu refuses to install teamviewer- headless

unfortunately I tried this one too, it's the armhf, and it didn't work either....

I guess I need arm64 compatibility...which means no go.

Ubuntu refuses to install teamviewer- headless

Anyone have a good, working install code for teamviewer? I'm running Ubuntu and I've tried a few different codes and none produce a good install of teamviewer. I've tried "fixing" the code as well and it doesn't fix anything.... This was one forum that didn't work.... https://vitux.com/how-to-instal...

Re: Pi sourcing internet from Tethered iPhone

solved....and not so fun.

I ended up "sharing'" the phone/usb connection with the wifi connection on the laptop, and then forcing windows to bridge the wifi interface and LAN interface (Pi) while using TFTPD64 to serve DHCP addresses for the pi.

Probably right. yes the 192.168.137.1 is the PC. Any ideas on the PC routing.... You need to ensure Windows 10 Connection Sharing is correctly set up. Re: Pi sourcing internet from Tethered iPhone

You're right, I don't think it's connected. Ideas here? In this connection scenario, I "shared' the connection, restarted the computer, and then ran TFTPD64 as a DHCP server for the Pi's LAN connection. ubuntu@ubuntu:~$ ip addr 1: lo: <LOOPBACK,UP,LOWER_UP> mtu 65536 qdisc noqueue state UNKNOWN grou...

Re: Pi sourcing internet from Tethered iPhone

Sorry as I see there is a fair amount of confusion here. The "host" is a windows 10 machine. It is acting as the DHCP server and is getting its internet via a tethered iphone. The windows 10 machine has TFTPD64 running to act as the DHCP server. The pi should be getting internet but definitely refus...

Pi sourcing internet from Tethered iPhone

Good Evening, I've been trying to "give" my Pi4 internet through my tethered iPhone. The Pi is headless, so here's what I've tried: Method 1: Share Internet Connection from "Apple Ethernet" to "Ethernet" (where the Pi is connected). I then used TFTPD64 to run a DHCP server (since windows wasn't doin...

Re: Pi and Virtualbox

So I will certainly begin by playing with the unit in a headless setup and remote desktop into the pi before I go the other way around. The end goal of this- all of it would be within a LAN, so not going out to the ISP. I'm deployed on a ship until June, so I have access once a day to SLOW internet ...

Re: Pi and Virtualbox

Ok so expect running an Windows X server with the pi to not really be a viable option...right? Regarding thin clients, anything that's free? To the best of my knowledge, those are all not-so-free options.... What do I need to download on the Pi (I downloaded a full copy of Raspbian on it at the mome...

Pi and Virtualbox

Good Evening, I'd like some opinions as well as a course of action here if someone has a few minutes. I have a book-keeping computer in the house that runs Quick Books. Machine might play some spotify or youtube occasionally for background music but that's about the gist of it...book-keeping. Anyway...

Re: Downloading all available features/images

I've got 2tb of open space on my laptop to download stuff for the Pi. That's why I was wondering about downloading images/updates, etc.

I will go download the tutorials you listed though!

But yes, it was stuff like the packages I was worried about.

Downloading all available features/images

Good Evening, As someone that works aboard ships and has a decent amount of free time when not on watch, I redeploy on Monday. I bought a PI 4 with ideas of learning it because of the awesomeness I've been reading about them. I've packed a router, laptop (windows, but Virtualbox downloaded), the Pi4...
