Re: New 8MP Camera - Q&A thread

Does Camera V2 need the new kernel or other related libraries/firmware? If the latter, I hope there is a different approach to get it without changing the kernel version.

Re: New 8MP Camera - Q&A thread

You seem to miss: sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get upgrade sudo apt-get install rpi-update sudo rpi-update -> Reboot You obviously still use an old kernel or packages: -> Width 2592, Height 1944 which multiplies up nicely to round about 5 MP Pi Cam V2 has -> Width 3280, Height 2464 which in turn is...

Re: New 8MP Camera - Q&A thread

I found that raspistill could not correctly control the exposure time. See the attached file https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B3RSuv91xWggaXhLY1N5VkM5YUk/view?usp=sharing I took images with ISO400 with exposure time 1 2 4 and 6 sec. as you can see from the filename: im400_2.jpg = ISO400 2s exposure ...

Re: PiAstroHub for Autoguiding+DSLR+Goto+Astrometry

I post the open sourced package at
http://sourceforge.net/projects/iastrohub/

Recently I used MK808 to interface with an autoguider and ccd or dslr because it is smaller, faster, and cheaper.

Nice project. I found an LED8BUS chip http://www.ebay.com/itm/Rapid-Prototyping-LED-breadboard-Arduino-Launchpad-PIC-etc-plug-in-module-/190705586955?pt=UK_BOI_Electrical_Components_Supplies_ET&var=&hash=item2c66f0530b and soldered it on a K000 Slice of Pi board. I am using the SB components case from Day 1. The Pi is firmly secured in the case by well-designed clamps in the bottom case. I always use the composite jack without any problem.

The FTDI technical support in Taiwan kindly compiled a new FTD2XX for the Raspbian image. They allow me to distribute the driver while the new driver will be posted on their website soon.

Does the Rev2 board and the 2012-09-18 Wheezy resolve the problem of issuing the second command ? I also tried to use the bulb mode for a 500D camera and got the same problem.

Get keyevents from a physical keyboard connected to Pi

Hello, I want to write a C program to get the key event from a physical keyboard connected to Pi. getch() will work with the keyboard that is running the console terminal. And the physical keyboard only works with getch() in the tty1 console. I want the program to run at startup and wait for the key...

Re: PiAstroHub for Autoguiding+DSLR+Goto+Astrometry

I just added the plate-solving feature using the engine from astrometry.net which was capable to perform blind solving. After getting an image, I use plate-solving to find the exact pointing location and send the RA/DEC values to align a mount. The crosshair in Skysafari is also automatically in syn...

Re: PiAstroHub for Autoguiding+DSLR+Goto+Astrometry

To control the autoguider, there are two possible options: 1) INDI and Open PHD guiding http://code.google.com/p/open-phd-guiding/ 2) Lin_guider http://sourceforge.net/projects/linguider/ I found that INDI drivers and OpenPHD were very slow. So, I tried Lin_guider on Raspberry Pi. Lin_guider is so m...
