Re: Freezing at Rainbow Screen

I believe apt now contains the latest firmware so there's no need to use rpi-update. Although, it's probably exactly the same at the moment. Thank you for the reply here. Sounds good. Before I potentially try anything newer, for simplicity’s sake, I’ll first do a clean install of the Sept. 2019 Ras...

Re: Freezing at Rainbow Screen

There’s an rpi-update change since the release which may help reboot issues. I expect that will get rolled into an apt update or new image fairly soon Does this change referred to here by now (16:45 GMT, February 13) get installed by sudo apt full-upgrade ? Thanks for letting us now. I’ll be trying...

Re: RPi4 shutdown -r not restarting up

I have a RPi4 4GB running Raspbian 2020-2-5 with all updates. When I command reboot from the desktop it shuts down but does not reboot. I have to power cycle it. Ideas? If you don't mind me asking, I'm curious to know: --When you rebooted, did you use 'sudo reboot' or just 'reboot' ? --Were you typ...

Re: Problem 7 led act raspberry pi4 with sudo reboot

My 4B2 was recently updated to the latest (stable) firmware and kernel, and it has the OS on SSD ( SATA-III SSD with USB 3.0 adapter cable ). I have no trouble restarting that system. The system was updated with the following command. sudo apt update && sudo apt full-upgrade -y Out of curiousity: —...

Re: Running Raspbian from USB Devices : Made Easy

RonR, Just wanted to let you know that it there's now a potential bug in the commands sudo shutdown -r now that you happen to use in your sdc-boot script (run as root) since the latest updates installed via apt update/full-upgrade or the newest 2020-02-05 Raspbian Buster with Desktop image on a RPI4...

Re: RPi4 shutdown -r not restarting up

Many thanks to the op for posting this. I thought I was losing my mind when a script I routinely use on my Raspberry Pi 4 (running Raspbian Desktop with latest updates via sudo apt update && sudo apt full-upgrade -y) that I'm running headless via SSH all of a sudden would only end with a shutdown (s...
