Re: rpix86 (Raspberry Pi x86 emulator) version 0.04 released

Pate,

Thanx for testing the old school games for me. I'm really digging the emulator.

May I ask if you are able to get Sim Earth working in your emulator? Do you have any favorite games you would suggest to the forum that lets your emulator shine?

Re: rpix86 (Raspberry Pi x86 emulator) version 0.04 released

Pate, thanks for the reply. Keep in mind the errors crashed the game, not the rpix86 emulator. Here's the location of the games I downloaded and attempted to run: links removed by moderator, because of linking to illegal content! Thanks for looking at this. I've got to be doing something wrong. Keith

Trouble running games

Pate, I was wondering if you could let me a bit of assistance. I've had no trouble getting the rpix86 emulator up and running. I've also downloaded 3 DOS games (Colossal Cave, Drugwar and NFL Challenge). Each game is unzipped and located in their respective directory. When I attempt to run each game...

Installing X Server + LXDE on minimal Raspbian Installation

If you have a minimal Raspbian installation and would like to install X and LXDE, what packages thru apt-get would be required?

Thanks,

Re: MAME4ALL for Pi

The question of updates raises a very strong point.

What is the process for updates? (I'm guessing just download and install another copy from the Pi Store). Will the update wipe out the ROMs located in their folder?

Re: MAME4ALL for Pi

I will also have to say the performance is incredible as well. I'm running my setup in X and as a good test, running Pacmania in AdvMame vs. Mame4All for Pi. Hands down, Mame4All for Pi runs Pacmania full speed and is conservatively 3 times faster than AdvMame. Nice work! Do you accept donations for...

Re: X-Arcade not recognized in AdvMame

I just posted the configuration for getting the tank stick to work on a Raspberry Pi: http://blog.sheasilverman.com/2013/02/pimame-advancemame-and-advancemenu-tankstick-configuration/ Enjoy! Shea's instructions to edit /etc/rc.local and /home/pi/.advance/advmame.rc worked perfectly. Once again, his...

Does anyone have the scroll wheel working in any variant of XBMC on the Raspberry Pi?

Re: XBMC - how to enable mouse scroll wheel??

Thanks for your input.

I'd be guessing that most have checked the System Settings to enable the mouse and to still find it odd that the scroll wheel is not available.

Can someone chime in who IS able to use a mouse scroll wheel in any variant of XBMC?

Re: XBMC - how to enable mouse scroll wheel??

Bump.

I'd like to know if anyone using a mouse in Raspbmc, OpenElec, XBian or Raspbian+XBMC have been able to use the mouse scroll wheel to navigate menus or scroll through file lists?

What is needed to add this functionality?

Re: X-Arcade not recognized in AdvMame

As a test, I started LXDE and ran AdvMame in a terminal window. The X-Arcade joysticks worked properly (with slow emulation).

There must be a setting to enable or something.

X-Arcade not recognized in AdvMame

i'm kinda scratching my head on this one. My X-Arcade dual joysticks, which emulates key presses, works fine on the command line and in LXDE. The keyboard I use works correctly to control AdvMame, so why aren't the X-Arcade joysticks or buttons recognized properly? When I exit AdvMame, the joysticks...

fv+ I'm guessing that memsplit would not work with the new 512MB model and new elf files. Are there plans to update memsplit for the 512 or do you think it's not necessary? Again, fantastic job in creating memsplit. Many users strip their installations down to nothing to increase available memory fo...

Re: Arbitrary memory split in RPi

This feature works incredibly well. My Raspbian + XBMC + LDXE + AdvMame image was using the 128/128 split and functioning fine. But having the extra memory really helps out. For my installation, I've tried the following memory allocations for the cpu: arm140_start.elf (everything ran well) arm150_st...

Re: How to enable zram on Raspbian Wheezy?

Using Steps 1-5 works! Information gets written to the compressed zram swap file before being written to disk. I'm going to do some comparison testing, but up front, I'm inclined to keep the zram swap file.

I'm going to tryout Street Fighter 2 to see how that plays- subjectively.. :)

On another note, maybe SSilver2k2 will release a binary for AdvanceMenu, which would be totally sweet. ;)

Berighteous,

My AdvMame installation is working smoothly. Did you have any games that had lousy sound and wanted to test out on a different install? dkong with samples plays perfectly.

My setup is using firmware v3.2.27 #160, 124/124 memory split, HDMI, 1 GHZ overclock.

Re: Please help, I want to play Pacman on my pi.

Much thanks to Berighteous! I've got the classic games working, albeit with crazy sound. I have noticed there are some updates out there, so I will do the updates as well. AdvMame on the Raspberry Pi still needs some polish in running the roms.
