Re: Making the Raspberry PI Model B+ 4 Run Assembly Bare

I downloaded FASM-ARM and experimented around with it. How should I use your tutorials in FASM-ARM?

Thank you very much, as always.

Re: Making the Raspberry PI Model B+ 4 Run Assembly Bare

Also, is there a simple program I could program to make sure it works?

I've been looking at a few RPi tutorials (especially this one https://www.cl.cam.ac.uk/projects/raspb ... orials/os/), though it is not updated for the RPi 4. Is there another tutorial to check on?

Re: Making the Raspberry PI Model B+ 4 Run Assembly Bare

Thank you bzt for your reply.

I would also like to apologize for posting it in the wrong forum. Sorry.

To clarify, I would like to run assembler code, not code an assembler there.

Much thanks and much apologies to everyone.

Re: Making the Raspberry PI Model B+ 4 Run Assembly Bare

I would just like to add that I know that running code on the Raspberry Pi bare won't create what you would see in a Terminal.

Making the Raspberry PI Model B+ 4 Run Assembly Bare

What software do I need to run Assembler on the Raspberry Pi Model B+ 4 without having to download Raspbian onto it? I have an SD card, HDMI cable, and Type C MicroUSB cable along with the Pi, which is what I assume to be enough to run assembler on it. Please tell me if there's more I need to get.

Re: Creating an Operating System on the Raspberry Pi

Nirbodha, If you want to write some system software, why not choose something smaller and more realistic? Perhaps a tool like a text editor. This could be written by one person in a few days (if you are good at C) and not 20 years / 10,000 programmers like Linux! A text editor is an extremely usefu...

Re: Creating an Operating System on the Raspberry Pi

Thank you for your reply! I do want to create a completely original operating system from scratch. I did see a few comments talking about using C. I do have experience in programming in it. If I were to use it though, how would I implement a compiler for C to the Pi? Typically one does not write a "...

Hello. I received a Raspberry Pi 4 B+, and I was wondering if I could create my own operating system. Are there any good leads for me to follow to create an OS?
