Re: Locking LXTerm and the sudo command

i wasn't thinking about visudo and did a right click-> admin user, which is "sudo gedit [email protected]", added a User_Alias & saved. later i was thinking and tried to do a "sudo su" to confirm my thoughts.

anyways, i ended up pulling the card an fixed it on my pop!_os laptop. :lol:

Re: Locking LXTerm and the sudo command

terminal = use the menu editor to change the command, use a bogus command like "zenity --info --text="Sorry, I blocked This" sudo = undo the no password settings. this one i'm not sure about since i've never tried or looked into it. don't mess with that file you'll lock yourself out, i did :lol: i'm...

Re: What is the best overcloking option?

what i use for daily running raspbian lite + gnome-core on rpi4 4gb:
arm_freq_min=400
arm_freq=1800
over_voltage=2
gpu_freq=600
gpu_mem=124

forgot to say, i'm passive cooling, heatsink only, no fan, using half a case sitting flat so the heat can travel up the heatsink.

Re: Pi 4 won't overclock past 1.75GHz

My config is:- over_voltage=2 arm_freq=1800 arm_freq_min=400 arm_64bit=1 without the heat sink I had to use "over_voltage=3" that must be it, i didn't have a good heat sink before. i can see it ramps up slower on voltage 2, it go's 400->450->514->600>720->900, didn't have those minor steps before. ...

Re: Pi 4 won't overclock past 1.75GHz

that's strange, before when i tried with voltage 2 it wouldn't go up to 1800, weirdness.
I'm passive cooling as well, i under clock so it can cool faster when not in use. I'm just about at the same temps as i had running a fan.

youtube banning adblock users

so google is really doing it. i've had a few friends get banned from youtube for using adblock.
they had to create new accounts to get back in.

i don't want the hassle so i just switched to an ad skipper.

whats your thoughts on this?

tcp 0 0 127.0.0.1:4840 0.0.0.0:* LISTEN 912/python3
that is from the computer(127.0.0.1) to a blackhole(0.0.0.0), it's what's most commonly used to block sites in hosts file.

Re: raspberry pi 4 with problems

This pi is pissing me off with all the problems. I'm starting to regret buying that piece of junk :-( why? it works if connected to the tv, correct? which is the intended use case. it's obvious to all of us the hdmi switch is the issue, so that is the piece of "junk". there's absolutely nothing wro...

Re: from LXDE to XFCE Desktop

LXDE is used because it's light weight and we used to be stuck (variously through the models) at 256MB, 512MB, 1GB of RAM. While Raspbian remains a single distro for ALL Raspberry Pi models it will remain with LXDE. of course it will, no ones asking it to be changed. but it doesn't mean the end use...

:lol: there's just something about lxde i can't stand either, the panel was always crashing/restarting, it's just a hodge podge of different apps and settings. i'm fine with any linux, i could use it if i had to, but i went with raspbian lite + gnome-core. gnome is just my most preferred desktop. :D

Re: How to deploy qt applications in raspberrypi

maybe look into appimage packaging, google "appimage how to". AppImages are CPU architecture specific, an AppImage for Intel architecture processors won't run on a RPi. Raspberry Pis use ARM CPUs, that image is for Intel x86_64 i use a appimage app on my rpi4 4gb, daily. so yes it works on arm with...
