The TEMT6000 light sensor spears to be an analogue device outputing a voltage between VCC input and zero . So if you power the sensor from 3.3v it will output a voltage between 3.3 and 0v, but as the pi does not have any analogue pins you will need an analogue to digital converter like the MCP3008 ...

Hello,
Sorry for the late reply. I have checked many times and I believe the way I connected the sensor to RPi is correct. Attaching a photo anyway.
I'm starting to think the DHT12 or my RPi is not working as it should.
