don,t know if this was the way to do it but at-least all the buttons work now
so i managed to use the GPIO buttons to simulate the arrow keys

well not much luck on the interface forum https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=44&t=265210 i was thinking to use the before mentioned code to simulate a single key-press and use evmapy https://github.com/kempniu/evmapy to turn that single key-press into a simulated keyboard combination...

the writer of that post was not happy with xdotools for his project instead used uinput pyhthon uinput no longer has a functioning website this seems to be a common problem, no longer supported projects so i like to make this as simple as possible to keep it future proof personally i think something...

is there another way to achieve this? i don,t think the developer will change the key-combination to a single key so that accidental key presses will not do damage to the engine i was also looking at trigger-happy as possible solution or python uinput but alas i am not very proficient in programming...
