Re: Using a pulse counter on a Raspberry Pi, weird problem

"gpio to air" is an antenna. It can pick up interference that might trigger the counting. Some lengths of cable may be more sensitive to the interference than others. Separation between the signal and ground wires creates a loop that will be more susceptible to interference. What happens if you con...

Have you got resistors on the input pins like the youtube describes?
Yes, exactly the same.

Using a pulse counter on a Raspberry Pi, weird problem

Raspberry Pi starts to count pulses when I just add a cable to the gpio, it is not connected to anything else. Literally just the gpio to air. Some cables don't make it count pulses and other do, I also dont touch the cables when this happens and they dont touch any metal or anything else. I am usin...

Re: 5v relay controlling with Raspberry Pi

In other words: I can use the relay board as is or should I remove the jumper(COM to GND). I have been using it for a few hours as is and it worked perfectly.

Thank you all for the detailed messages.

Thank you for your reply.

How about the velleman VMA400 4 channel relay module?

5v relay controlling with Raspberry Pi

I see that most people say you need resistors or transistors and diodes. If the relay board have optoisolators, why do I have to add the resistors or transistors and diodes? Wont it be safe to do: 5v to VCC, GPIOs' to INs' and GND to GND, as the optoisolators will protect the GPIO pins to not receiv...

MDB Pi project

Good day, I have recently completed a raspberry pi project and it works 100%. It has 6 inputs (pulses) and at the moment I only use normal buttons to complete a circuit which act as a pulse. I would like to make this a vending machine and I need a device that will be able to send 6 pulses as output ...

My first Pi project

Good day, I would just like to know if a raspberry pi can do the following task and if so what other hardware do I need? It must be able to receive 6 pulses, and then drive 2 12v motors. 3 pulses for the big motor and 3 for the small motor, there should also be a sensor and each pulse has a predefin...
