Re: LG HDMI CEC Remote.xml

You are right. I got them confused with the channel plus and minus button. My mistake. I actually tried mapping coloured buttons and now they work:/ Not sure what to use them for anymore, I am keeping info and context mapped to skip buttons. This is what is working for me. <keymap> <global> <remote...

Re: LG HDMI CEC Remote.xml

Unfortunately hdmi_force_hotplug=1 didnt work. After changing input, simplink stops working. Double check if the skip+ & - works and let me know please. I would like to use them for xbmc volume. Currently using fast forward & backward buttons for context menu and main menu since they aren't being us...

Re: LG HDMI CEC Remote.xml

I have issue with LG tv too, if you change input would stop working. Turning off 'simplink' off then back makes it work again. Got a new LG tv on this one I cant change back to the HDMI once simplink stops working. So I have to turn it off, change input, then turn it back on, slightly annoying. I ha...

Re: Overclocking

I get corruption on 512MB board without any overclocking. Does underclocking core_freq fix it (e.g. core_freq=250 and core_freq_min=250) Is this with multiple sdcards? Does it happen with latest raspbian image from downloads page? Can you repeatably corrupt the sdcard? (i.e. image the card, and go ...

Quite a few people have this with 512MB. Have the R-pi made any comment on the issue?

File Corruption

A lot of users have reported a problem with files become corrupted from over clocking. But I think it can happen even running at stock. My own experience; 512mb board running openelec xbmc; To start it was believed that overclocking the gpu was the cause, if I overclocked it by even 1 it would corru...

Re: Overclocking

Has there been any improvement with corruption on some boards from overclocking?

I have one 512MB board, even with arm_freq=800 after a few reboots it becomes corrupted. Is this something that may be fixed with firmware updates or will some hardware always be prone to this.

Re: (512MB) Raspberry Pi eats SD cards!

I had the same issue with any sort of overclock on 512MB board that it would cause corruption. (Might happen without overclock too given enough time, I havent tested it for long periods) The gpu overclock had the biggest affect, even a overclock by 1 would suffer corruption on first reboot consisten...

Re: SD Card Image Exclude Unallocated Space

Use usbit in "device mode" in the top left corner is a dropdown Excellent, cheers mate. It was greyed out, I just needed to run with administrator privledges in windows 7. Tested out a 4GB image taken with usbit and win32diskimager and wrote them to a 2GB SD card with truncate , both worked fine. M...

Re: SD Card Image Exclude Unallocated Space

My understanding was that the OP has a relatively small partition (1GB) on a large 4GB card and only wanted to back up the used data (ie. the small, 1GB, part) and not the entire card, which is mostly empty. For this, dd is ideal, particularly when the amount of data to be backed up is specified so...

Re: What's better for XBMC, Wheezy/raspbmc/openelec?

Feels a bit like watching dad hit mum at the dinner table and being made to keep eating in here. I think we are pretty lucky to have three separate developments of xbmc going on. All have their advantages and disadvantages. Personally I have been using openelec the most, only because early on I foun...

Re: SD Card Image Exclude Unallocated Space

Remember that just the partition means exactly that, therefore no boot sector! That has to be done in another operation. Cheers the response. Ok I see what you are saying, there will boot sector information that resides outside of the partitions I see. (It lives in the 'unallocated space'). Bugger....

SD Card Image Exclude Unallocated Space

I have been using win32diskimager and it works great. Problem is I change between SD cards 2GB and 4GB in size. Only about 1GB is actually partitioned, the rest is unallocated space.

Is there a way to take SD card images and restore them so that they exclude unallocated disk space?

Thank you

Re: Firmware & system upgrade

Sorry this has probably been asked many times. Normally to update firmware on OpenELEC I would just get the latest bootcode.bin, loader, bin and start.elf and replace the old ones. For Raspbian and such is the manual process for updating firmware the same? and is there anything that attentional needs...

Seems fishy considering the most current build is OpenELEC-RPi.arm-devel-20121020212708-r12220.tar.bz2 http://sources.openelec.tv/tmp/image/openelec-rpi/ I would call it something other than an updated build number like try my custom port of it, anything but adding a number to their building scheme...

Re: OpenElec Builds with GUI 1080p.

Are you saying that the nornal openelec builds are not running with the GUI at 1080p? I'm running build r12195 and the system info page seems to think its running at 1920x1080 @ 60 Hz and the TV thinks its on a 1080p source? I think you are spot on, I tried; gpu_mem=256 arm_freq=900 sdram_freq=450 It rebooted fine with it, I will keep playing around and see how it goes with stability.
