Re: Creating systemd service files - documentation

Local service that writes to my NAS available only on LAN, runs as a sudo user, not root. I want all devices to be able to read / write files saved by that service. What I did: sudo nano /etc/systemd/system/$service.service Inside placed [Unit] Description=$service Wants=network-online.target After=...

Creating systemd service files - documentation

Hi folks, any chance someone could point me to proper documentation of how to set up services? I'd prefer something noob-friendly, but I'm open to everything :) I'd love to explore all options and find out what else can I do in sections like eg [Unit]. I know it's sort of a question that usually get...

Re: Can't send emails from server

Did you go through my tutorial? I can clearly see that you have misconfigured config e.g. "myhostname" does not reflect your domain, your cert file does not reflect your certificate etc.

Any logs you can share?

What is the output of "sudo sevice postfix status"?

Re: Can't send emails from server

Try this https://codedoneright.eu/?page_id=786 I wrote it to be as easy as possible, if you run into any problems just shout. But it's REALLY simple if you just follow along and don't skip steps. I fought with email a lot myself, don't get discouraged!

Re: Can't send emails from server

Pastebin your postfix config. Can you send and receive emails normally?

Is the server supposed to send the email to an external address or to an account on your Pi?

Try my take on setting up email – https://codedoneright.eu/?page_id=786

There's a tutorial for webmail as well, although for Apache. Just substitute Apache section with Nginx config.

RPi home server

Hi folks! For quite a while I wanted to set up a home server, learn Linux and, as it turned out, there weren't many newbie friendly tutorials out there. Or at least I couldn't find them... So when I learned a thing or two I figured that I should better document what I am doing, since there's just to...

Re: Hosting Multiple Websites on RPi 4 - Help Needed

I had a similar problem. You have to modify hosts file of the pc you are accessing the server with. It needs to resolve website1.com and website2.com to the same ip.

If you set up your dns it should work properly.

Use the following

Code: Select all

sudo netstat -lntp
Do not skip sudo, it gives less information without it.

Apache2 – Alias problem with FQDN/subpage

Re: Backing up LetsEncrypt web server certificates and pemchain with proper permissions?

Could someone give me some examples of how to back up my lets encrypt certificates and chain Sure, but as DougieLawson said there's basically no point. However, if you really, really want to you can. You have to be root in order to do that sudo su - cp * /etc/letsencrypt/live/example.com/ /destinat...

I'm not using my self-hosted email fully just yet, I still need to gain confidence that it actually works as it is supposed to. For now I've just placed /var/www/forum.test.eu in the subfolder of test.eu and I can access both.
