Could you please report a bug in Launchpad regarding the issue you are encountering? This can easily be done via the command

Code: Select all

ubuntu-bug systemd
on the Raspberry Pi with the issue. This will provide information useful for developers to dig into the matter. Thanks!

Re: RPI4 with. Ubuntu Server 18.04.4 eth0: link is down on first boot

On Ubuntu you can use the command "ethtool" to check on the status of a network interface, here is an example of the output on my desktop. $ ethtool enp3s0 Settings for enp3s0: Supported ports: [ TP MII ] Supported link modes: 10baseT/Half 10baseT/Full 100baseT/Half 100baseT/Full 1000baseT/Full Supp...

19.10 is EOL soon, why bother?
The 19.10 release of Ubuntu is supported for 9 months and will not reach its End of Life until July 2020.

With posts from above replies, I am now able to get networking going. Thanks :)
Did you end up writing a netplan configuration file? You can learn more about how to setup a netplan wireless configuration here.

Re: Status of Ubuntu 18.04 and RPi 4?

I am working on a project and I haven't decided whether to use a Raspberry Pi 4 or not. However, I will be running the 64-bit version of Ubuntu 18.04. I need an LTS version for support reasons and cannot use any hacks to achieve hardware support (since this setup will have to be maintainable easily...

Ubuntu 18.04 and Raspberry Pi 4 support

The Ubuntu team recently released the latest point release of our 18.04 Long Term Support operating system, 18.04.4, and with that release comes support for the Raspberry Pi 4. You can download the 18.04.4 release of Ubuntu from https://ubuntu.com/download/raspberry-pi/ . I thought this was worth me...

Re: Cannot connect to Wi-Fi with Ubuntu 18.04

What type of wireless network are you trying to connect to? 802.11b? 802.11n? I ask as there is an issue with the firmware which we include with both 18.04.4 and 19.10.1 and networks which are only 802.11ac.

Ubuntu 18.04 did not support the Raspberry Pi 4B until today with version Ubuntu 18.04.4. Please try downloading 18.04 again from https://ubuntu.com/download/raspberry-pi and let us know how it works for you. Thanks!

Re: Install Ubuntu on RPi 4

18.04.3 does not support the Raspberry Pi 4. The next point release of 18.04.4 will support the RPi 4 and is coming out this week. We're sorry for any confusion.
