Re: xvfb-run dont work at startup

If you want rc.local to work (new rootfs uses systemd now, not init) then add this file nano /etc/systemd/system/rc-local.service and paste this in [Unit] Description=/etc/rc.local Compatibility [Service] Type=oneshot ExecStart=/etc/rc.local TimeoutSec=0 StandardInput=tty RemainAfterExit=yes [Insta...

xvfb-run dont work at startup

Hi
I have configured a scritp that is executed by /etc/rc.local

When I login to the RPI the script is working fine

/etc/rc.local

but when reboot.

All lines in rc.local is working perfect except xvfb-run.

But the same script works fine on raspbian (i'm using sudo)

Re: Headless Squeezeplay on RPI

Hi Gordian 2 I tried to use your large rasp-logitech image. It is starting fine, the Logitech Media Server (LMS) is starting fine, however, Squeezeplay is not starting - and trying to start it via SSH by this command results in: [email protected] ~ $ /opt/squeezeplay/bin/squeezeplay.sh xvfb-run: error...

Re: USB dongle audio dropping audio (receive)

Hi T1ger, Well, sadly enough, switching to 44.8 Khz couple imply changes in the DSP filters and the soft-PLL in the code; which is something that I would like to avoid. (Especially as the code does run OK on other platforms). Do you have an exact reference to this bug in ALSA? Would moving to (say)...

How did you get the usb sound to work, i have been trying for days now! Mike GM3EIY/VP8DIA aplay -l to see your what device name your usb has. if you card has card 1 use folowing config to make it default for all users put this in /etc/asound.conf pcm.!default { type plug slave.pcm "hw:1,0" } ctl.d...

Re: usb sound firmware problem

You might want to try something different first: I have a PCM2707 (basically the same chip) running without any cracks and pops and samplerates up to 48KHz, after I added the dmix plugin with a reasonable sized buffer to my .asoundrc file. pcm.!default { type plug slave.pcm "softvol" } pcm.softvol ...

Re: usb sound firmware problem

To exclude the alsa part I did this type plug slave.pcm "output_raw" } pcm.output_raw { type file slave.pcm "hw:1,0" file "/home/pi/output.raw" } ctl.dmixer { type hw card 1 } and when playing this on an other pc on 48KHz it work fine. So how to get this bug assign on github?

usb sound firmware problem

Hi
There is a bug in the firmware/snd_usb_audio integration.
I have a pcm2704 dac and playback works very well on 32KHz and 44.1Khz.
But 48KHz has popping and distorted sound.

How do I register a bug on the firmware?

What is needed for the bug registration?

Re: Headless Squeezeplay on RPI

O.K. got it working with the very friendly help of MBA. But there are some issues: 1. Sound get's stuttering after a few minutes (internal analogue output) 2. How to configure it without a monitor connected on first start? 3. How can I start it on system boot? 4. How can I run it in background? 5. ...

1. Sound get's stuttering after a few minutes (internal analogue output) Probably alsa driver has to be more stable 2. How to configure it without a monitor connected on first start? 3. How can I start it on system boot? since its not a deamon, put squeezeplay.sh in /etc/rc.local , would work fine 4...

Re: Headless Squeezeplay on RPI

@t1ger what I am very curious about is whether you have stable and stutter-less playback or not? And if so how is your asound.conf and the rest of your system configured? Are you running the latest raspbian / rpi-update and so on. Hi. Yes i'ts shutterfree. Here is the filter free config that im run...

HI
I have simular problems @ 48KHz

If you try with 44.1KHz I think the result would be better,
and a beleve the problem is in alsa implementation

Re: Headless Squeezeplay on RPI

Btw I think the easiest way of compiling SqueezePlay is probably following the 'instructions' in the build script at http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=56769, download the tarball and use the patches inside. I tried to get this to work on raspbian, but I failed. If you are running arch it pro...
