SdrGlut (a Sofware Defined Radio) - Testing the Voice Control Module

I have spent the last few weeks creating a voice interface for SdrGlut - everything works nicely on a Raspberry Pi 4. The results look promising and the voice control modules could be pulled out and used to control anything, The video is - SdrGlut (a Sofware Defined Radio) - Testing the Voice Contro...

SdrGlut v1.24 - What is new ?

SdrGlut has a Help Window that covers the basic operation of the program. SdrGlut can send I/Q data to other programs using TCP/IP or UDP modes. SdrGlut has fixed the db read output in the Spectrum Window - removing the incorrect CSMeter routines. SdrGlut has an extreme zoom for the Spectrum and Wat...

Re: How to Install SdrGlut (a software defined radio) on the Raspberry PI

You never build SdrGlut - In the folder sdrglut you need to do a -

make -f makefileRaspbian
./sdrglut.x

to build and run SdrGlut.

Re: headmouse need help with math and algorythm

You may be able to get something that is useable, but it depends upon the accuracy of your devices. How do you know that "I have quite good Roll, pitch and yawn reading." the readings are actually good ? The math behind what you want to do is vector analysis. You don't need a camera, but i...

The random numbers are terminal commands send to set the color of the output and what-not. The terminal program is not correctly interpreting them for some reason - quiting and restarting the terminal program should cure the problem.

Try switching the output device with -

pavuconttol

or turning on and off the various backends with -

sudo alsoft-conf

SdrTest can now be remotely controlled by the control utility. This video shows how to build the utilities and it shows examples of piping in a variety commands to the control utility to send to sdrTest.

Using gnuradio and the Impulse Source to Show Filter Frequency Response

The Impulse Source permits one to view the frequency response of any filter over the entire frequency range of interest. It is an out of the tree module that installs easily on the PI 4. SdrGlut v1.21 (SDR) has expanded audio recording capabilities.

The latest release extends the audio recording capabilities of SdrGlut. It can be programed to record any frequency in any mode at any time. The 48,000 hz 16 bit raw audio files can be imported into Audacity to be played or exported. The video shows how to setup for making recordings at three differ...

You select the SDR to play, set its options and print information about it.
You can also select the audio output device to use and print information about it.

Here is a YouTube vidieo showing some of its capabilities.

Re: OpenAL Error

For 20 years I maintained the SHOW programs for LANL. It was about 1 million lines of code. The memory problems were solved by doing all memory allocation through three routines cFree, cMalloc and cRealloc. Every memory call had a tag on it for identification. There were various debug levels in the ...

Re: OpenAL Error

If my example crashes for you, it is time to install a new system. I ran it 30 times with no problem on a Pi B+. SdrGlut also uses OpenAL and I have run it for hundreds of hours on a Pi 4 with no problem. Random crashes are almost aways caused by over writing memory. As suggested above run valgrind ...

I have found that openal works fine on the PI, but it is a pain. Here is about the simplest program possible - miss any step and your program will likely fail - For real programs putting in error recovery adds a lot more complexity. #include <cstdio> #include <cstdlib> #include <cmath> #include <ios...

Re: How would I make a face recognition project to turn display on/off?

Using a neural network for face recognition is simple - you just train it on the faces you want it to recognize. About 10 years ago, I found the notes for a class on neural networks - they had the code and everything on line for face recognition - it worked great - its likely still out there. The pr...

Re: OpenGL speed tests of the Raspberry PI-4

I am running with a recent version of the Raspberry pi system - perhaps that is what is making the difference.

Everything should run faster, but games is where it counts.
How do you tell if you have a VC4 Pi ?
Yes, it looks like the compiled mode could use a little work.
