Hi,

I'm currently running a chrome console and I belive by just turning it off at nights it will/maybe eventually corrupt the sd card etc...

So the thinking is could I use a gpio pin on a momental push to make switch and a python script to turn off the pi safely

yes. quite easy really.

you will need a relay board to wire into or bypass the heating timers which will conect back to the rpi.

the hard bit will be writting or creating the software!

Im now using steven hickson amazing voice command software. Im only using a very cheap usb microphone, its like a 5mm bit of plastic on the end of a usb connector. So the question is what and how good was the microphone you used?

hi

the tvservice commands work brillantly so i install the cec stuff and its a no go, just sprouts aload of garbage out.

going to try and create a script, maybe python? to read the mouse movements and bash out the appropiate tvserve commands

(or borrow someone elses if all ready done :) )

so found out that the raspbery pi cannot switch off a monitor correctly using dpms...

is this a old problem? the monitor im using turns off ok on a windows pc

hi, im planning to run a model a+ with a small 12" touch screen (via hdmi) to display a webpage on "frameless" chrome. ive found that LXDE only blanks the screen after 10 mins but I really wanted it to put the monitor in to standby to save power and the back light after 10 mins. does anyone know how...

hi,

the display is via the hdmi port.

touch screen is via usb and requires usctouchscreen.c but there is no tutorial on how to intergate this.

any help would be great
