Display footage of webcam and raspi cam via Python

As the title says, I'd like to know if it is possible to display footage of a USB webcam and the raspberry pi camera module simultaneously through Python on a web server that can be accessed from anywhere. Initially I used Motion to do this, but it could not work because I have my own Python code th...

Motion can handle mre than one cam, if your device has enough power ;-)

You will need a config file for each cam.
Can you elaborate? Would it be on the same port or would each camera have a separate port? I would like to display both cameras on one webpage. And how do I create the config files?

Re: Live stream from Raspberry Pi Camera/USB Webcam

Who will be watching this stream ? What do you enter in VLC to see the video on LAN ? While you can use stuff like Motion/MotionOS to get a web page, but I'm thinking that a stream directly to VLC will usually give you a better framerate. You will need to port-forward and you need to know your "pub...

Live stream from Raspberry Pi Camera/USB Webcam

Hi guys, I'm very new to Pi and would like to know how I can possibly stream live footage from anywhere through a webpage of some sort. I've been able to view the camera's stream via VLC media player but this only works within the bounds of my home. I can't seem to find any information on how I woul...

Re: OpenCV "Error 2" while installing

Just simply import cv2 into your projects So I tried to import cv2 and I get the error: "Traceback (most recent call last): File "/home/pi/opencv_test1.py", line 1, in <module> import cv2 File "/home/pi/.local/lib/python3.7/site-packages/cv2/__init__.py", line 3, in <module> from .cv2 import * Impo...

Re: OpenCV "Error 2" while installing

The tutorials seem to build the cv2 from source, on a machine like pi that will take a LOT of time. Just enter the command I have given above in your shell and within seconds cv2 gets installed How do I launch OpenCV from this point? How do I get numpy because that seems like something I also need.

Re: OpenCV "Error 2" while installing

You can code your PC and transfer the files to your pi, but if your project uses cv2, it must be installed on both systems. How do you install open cv. I hope you use pip3 install opencv-python I did not use that, I followed about 4 different tutorials online and none of them worked, I'm not sure w...

OpenCV "Error 2" while installing

Before I go into the topic, I'd like to know if it's possible for me to utilize OpenCV on my windows PC then transfer the relevant code and files (like images made for Haar Cascade Training) to the Raspberry Pi or must I work from the Pi itself in order to complete my tasks? I've tried multiple time...

Record live footage and store recorded footage

Hi, I would like to know the possibility of recording live video to be shown on a webpage and also have it record and be stored on an sd card that could be played back when a certain criteria is met. I have done some research and found a lot of live videos but not anything on how videos can be recor...
