I have already done sudo apt-get upgrade and update and made sure my pi is up to date.
Just to be sure; order is important:

sudo apt update

then

sudo apt full-upgrade

Re: STICKY: USB-MSD boot EEPROM fourth update - 2020-06-15

From my window onto the world the Eluteng adapter cables are somewhat elusive to find... If you can't find the Eluteng cable-style adapter, then just try to get a StarTech one instead, with ASM1153E or ASM1351 chipset . For example, I bought several from eBay . Thank you. I missed that detail from ...

From my window onto the world the Eluteng adapter cables are somewhat elusive to find. One option is eBay for about $80 aud, Amazon us has had my order for a week but has not yet shipped, also I was restricted to purchasing one only. I hope I receive the blue SCSI version so I don’t need to reflash ...

Re: STICKY: USB-MSD boot EEPROM fourth update - 2020-06-15

this will make USB boot possible....correct? Yes it will, and *ideally* the next step is to use the clone tool to clone your current uSD Image to a SSD, shutdown, remove the uSD and reboot from the SSD and be in business to continue as normal. The truth is that it may not happen so smoothly as that...

No mention is made of the actual kiosk application, I don’t intend to pry but if people are motivated to break security or force an external reset then I’ve seen some drastic means taken. I’ve seen ceramic gas igniters (HV spark generators) used to try breaking into video game machines - something l...

Re: Logitech Wireless keyboard with touchpad k400 plus

The version from apt is 0.9.2 and this debian package is 1.0.2 so likely the problem.

Excuse my ignorance but what is the tidy command line way to install a .deb package?

No. In my case the keyboard is described as ‘K400 Plus’ and the swap Fx option is not shown.

Re: Logitech Wireless keyboard with touchpad k400 plus

Not sure if I missed something but I don’t see any facility to change any configuration aspect of the k400+ in this tool. ‘Solaar’ seems to only provide connection management to the receiver. Running ‘apt search logitech’ didn’t discover anything else that looked like it might reconfigure the k400+ .

Re: USB-MSD boot EEPROM update - 2020-06-12

A data point on the USB sticks that may or may not be significant - I have been using a SanDisk Ultra Flair 64Gbyte (boasting 150MB/s read) for some time now and recently ran ‘fstrim -va’ , it was quietly ignored. This suggests it does not support the discard function. So I’m thinking perhaps these ...

Can those people seeing the issue provide a little more information please. For example, the resolution of the display you are using, anything unusual about your setup etc. Full screen, windowed. Please read the man pages - you need to understand how the order of options influence the processing sequence and that parameters apply differently and are different dependent upon the codec or feature you are using at that phase. Yes the man pages are sometimes difficult to understand but they do h...

Yes mp4 cannot take raw data - use another that can. rtm.
Did you put the buffer in the correct part of the chain. Do you need multiple buffers.
These were clues not silver bullets.

Re: Need help with FFmpeg

1. The GoPro is not being very helpful. You are only seeing 14fps from the camera and the packet size is too large. Try requesting 30 fps from the camera by putting '-framerate 30' immediately before -i /dev/video0. This should halve the data rate from the camera. You don't seem to have an option to...

Re: Need help with FFmpeg

Stick with the h264_omx video codec, it is quicker than other h264 on RPI since its using hardware encoding. Try a lower video bit rate say '-codec:v h264_omx -b:v 2048k'

Sadly these config changes did not resolve the flicker following the power off then on cycle. The longer the display remains in the off state the worse the flicker and the longer the recovery takes.

I'm pretty confident ALSA will pass multi channels through to HDMI as is, it certainly passes 4 channels to my Behringer USB interface and without actually testing myself I am not willing to say it will. To generate the 'upmix' will require a .asoundrc file to remap the channels appropriately. Dig i...
