Re: Hat design help (3d Scanner)
The freeLss scanner fits onto a protopi plate. I would share mine but its half assembled and not had the time to work on it. I cant say I'm supprised, its not an overly component heavy project as far as I can tell lol. I've almost finished designing my own board to do it. But first, I've got to put...

Re: Hat design help (3d Scanner)
and since its for use at my local hack space Is there anyone at your hackspace who can help. My local one ran a few PCB design sessions and there are generally people who are very happy to share their knowledge. quite possibly. I've not been able to get to any events at the moment, due to working f...

Hat design help (3d Scanner)
Ok, this is going to get complicated I'm building a FreeLSS 3d scanner and I'm struggling with the electronics. Basically, I need to design a board that can drive two 5V line lasers, and a 12V stepper (using a DRV8825 driver) I've tried looking at the circuit boards on the freelss website, and cant ...

Re: Photogrammetry?
S0litaire - I've been having the same issues :/ and I do know a LOT about programming :/ I think its destined not to work... so yes, for now, it looks like get the pi to take pictures and send them to another computer. Wondering if it would be possible to put some software on a linux computer that c...

Re: Photogrammetry?
Note you'll need to install the desktop version of Raspbian for the compile to work. That seems like an odd, ah well, obviously uses some of the X libaries or something I've just installed minmac on my desktop, going to see if I can learn how to use it while I wait for my new pi3 to arrive (my curr...

Re: Photogrammetry?
Wow, S0litaire, you've got a load further than me...
Python photogammitary toobox wont work on the pi
It uses some x86/64 only libaries, So I guess time to start working on MicMac
Actually, Maybe its time to work on my turntable setup to take the photos, THEN I can worry about the software...

Re: Photogrammetry?
take a look at micmac http://micmac.ensg.eu/index.php/Accueil It's got instructions for compiling in the Raspberry Pi http://micmac.ensg.eu/index.php/Compilation_de_MicMac_sur_ARM_(RaspBerryPi) *note* The site is in French but the commands are self explanatory. Just started compiling it and will gi...

Re: Photogrammetry?
Any Update/Further along on this? Been thinking of setting up something like this myself. Been googling photogrammetry software for a few days. Technically it should be possible, but the time to render the 3d image from the pictures on a pi3 might be very slow. Just need to find a rasprry pi friend...

Re: Photogrammetry?
that's a structured light scanning, or laser light\line scanning
Similar, but not quite what I was looking for (hence I hadn't seen that)
freelss looks promising. So I'll have to take a look at that. Wasnt planning on going down the laser rout, but if its my only option...

Photogrammetry?
Hi guys I'm looking at building a 3d scanner rig with a pizeroW (or pi3), a camera module, and extra parts... I'm considering a Photogrammetry approach, whereby I rotate the object on the turntable (probably via a stepper motor) and take pictures at preset angles. This bit is relatively easy, what I...

Daz, If you get the ikea one, then you can still control it with a relay board. And I really think its worth looking at the noIR camera to take photos, and even look at plant health

Re: 3d Printer host software?
I originally ran octoprint on a pi B+ with pi camera, but found the printer would stutter when viewing the camera remotely. I moved it to a pi3 and it's been fine since... Thats good to know :D since its the pi3 I'm going to be running on. Next stop, lighting lol. Its all well and good running a ca...

Re: GPIO22 Toasted - Remapping JSTEST
Why will the CPU fail soon?? It really depends where the damage is. But since the GPIO map to pins on the processor (pretty directly if I'm not much mistaken) If you have fried one of the GPIO, then there is a good chance that you have damaged the cpu where its connected. You may have got off lucky...

Re: 3d Printer host software?
My printer is an Anet A8 I'd like to say that my printer is an A8 too... but the only resemblance it has to the A8 is that I got hold of a second hand ramps compatible control board that was taken out of a broken A8... (the board was sat in a box at my local makers space, and I asked if I could buy...

Re: 3d Printer host software?
Just our opinion as I know many others love it but we could not get any real support for our issues and was constantly told to provide logs without out further comment on them also no one had a better solution to supporting our printer other then tell us to get one that was.   ...

3d Printer host software?
Hi guys, I'm currently looking at getting another raspberry pi to run some 3d printer host software as far as I can tell, there are 3 main options: Octoprint - Octopi seems to be the most mature, and well used (And documented) 3d printer host software for the raspberry pi. I've seen a LOT of people ...

3d Printtable +pi + 3D scanner
Hi guys So this time I'm working on building myself a new 3D printer follwing the " PrintTable " design (yes its due an upgrade, but I'm upgrading it myself, so I'm not that fussed if it changes under me). anyway, background aside, I'm including a pi (and touch screen) in the top, to contr...
