Re: I2C and ds2482.

I'm not sure that the DHT11 is strictly a "1-wire" device - yes, it only has one data wire but I don't think it complies with the 1-Wire standard so the DS2482 may not work with it. Try this. http://learn.adafruit.com/dht-humidity-sensing-on-raspberry-pi-with-gdocs-logging/overview You can pretty mu...

Re: Adafruit Power Supply

If you need a case for your second Pi, Phenoptix manufacture and stock the Adafruit case in the UK. They have great service too. http://www.phenoptix.com/index.php/fron ... uters.html

Re: Adafruit Power Supply

Why bother with shipping from the US and why mess around with a travel adapter for something as mundane as a power supply? CPC have both Raspberries and power supplies in stock and offer free and quick delivery within the UK. http://cpc.farnell.com/jsp/bespoke/bespoke2.jsp?bespokepage=cpc/en_CC/spec...

Re: Lighttpd password protect doesn't work

You're right about htpasswd needing a realm! I thought it was only required when htdigest was used but htpasswd needs it too, albeit only for display purposes rather than authentication. The following should work just fine. No more just typing what I think looks right without testing it - I've just ...

Re: Lighttpd password protect doesn't work

Im not quite sure what you mean when you say "but the status say FAIL". Is that an error in your browser or in a log file somewhere? Anyway, a couple more things to try... Get lighttpd to check your config file for you with the command: lighttpd -t -f /etc/lighttpd/lighttpd.conf Does it return "Synt...

Re: Lighttpd password protect doesn't work

AFAIK htpasswd doesn't use a realm, only a username and password. Try commenting out the "realm" => ... line, restart lighttpd and then see if it works. If you need to include the realm in the user identification process, use htdigest instead of htpasswd.

Re: rpi-update

The package raspberrypi-bootloader isn't a program to fetch the latest firmware. The package itself is the latest (stable) firmware. To make sure that you've got the latest version provided by it, use aptitude to update it: run

Code: Select all

sudo aptitude update && sudo aptitude full-upgrade

Re: Post your Raspberry Pi server setup!

I've got a Pi in a ModMyPi case which I've tarted up a bit http://www.makerdyne.com/new-case-for-the-raspberry-pi/ and pressed into service as a torrent downloader for my brother who's at uni and isn't allowed to run P2P stuff on their network. Torrents are saved to an external USB hard drive by Tra...
