Re: Nextcloud sync client for Raspbian x86

Hi All, I have solved my problem with the need for a Nextcloud Sync Client for my installation of the "Raspberry Pi Desktop for PC and Mac" on my Aspire 1. Thank you both for the clues. Firstly though I must take issue with fruitoftheloom saying of this distribution: "It is Debian x86-32 with RPD, n...

Nextcloud sync client for Raspbian x86

Hi All, I have just installed the Raspbian/Pixel x86 version on an Acer Aspire One (Atom) laptop and am very pleased to say the newest version installs and works very nicely. Additionally, this version will install without hogging the HDD - I have it dual booting with another distro. My intention is...

Magpi 50 - Boot from USB - page 70

Hi All, I am having trouble completing this tutorial with the expected results. I have two RPi 3s. I have completed the tutorial on one but find that this RPi will NOT boot without a microsd card. The tutorial notes that some will not boot unless there is a microsd but that the only content required...

Re: WiFi Issues ? Start here !

Hi, I have had trouble with the WiFi on the Pi 3. Problem appeared to be possibly related to chip shutting down and not waking. My Pi would work well while ever it was used regularly but after a couple of hours idle it would no longer respond (difficult since it runs headless). After turning off pow...

Re: Jessie can't boot to command line

Thanks for the info DirkS. I am not familiar enough with the contents of the image to know down to that level. However, it would appear that CRDA was required, did not exist in the old version and was not included in the upgrade. Thanks to all for the info provided which enabled a solution to my pro...

Re: Jessie can't boot to command line

Hi,

Found a solution to the CRDA problem

"To solve the "problem" - which actually is that the Jessie distro does not have this included, do:

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get install wireless-regdb iw crda
sudo reboot
"

Re: Jessie can't boot to command line

[quote="JimmyN"]You can look in the raspi-config file and see what it uses to switch GUI/Console, and login/nologin. Assuming you're using systemd, if you're still using init.d it's done a bit differently: For a boot to console and no auto login (you'll have to log in at the prompt) systemctl set-de...

Jessie can't boot to command line

Hi, I'd like to add my complaint under this heading. I have the same problem - upgraded to Jessie and my headless Pi will ONLY boot to GUI. None of the ideas in this area work. I have not tried to purge LightDM since that is displaying the system. Disabling LightDM left me with a blank screen from w...

Re: VNC server in Jessie (using a systemd service)

Hi, Thanks for this posting xanthor, I basically now have this system working. There is however one problem. My Raspberry Pi has two users (pi and aaron). I maintain the machine as pi and my grandson uses it as aaron. This scheme appears to lock use to pi - is this correct? If so, can it be altered ...

Re: Logitech k400 keyboard and v3.2

Hi, I have had several problems with USB devices on the Pi over the last few weeks - in order: Up to last Saturday (22/09/2012) I was unable to get my TL-WN822N wifi adaptor to work (tried every solution I could find - spent about 30 hours all up). Last Saturday on a 'new' SD card the adaptor worked...

Re: RaspberryPi frustration

Hi, I'm glad I am not alone in having frustrations with the setup of the Pi. I, too, want a useable wifi dongle. I have a TL-WN822N - some web references say it works fine straight out of the box - some give instructions for getting it to work - ALL WRONG. I've spent many hours trying without any gl...

Re: How can i setup my wifi card? TP-Link TL-WN822N

Hi, I am also trying to setup one of these cards on a Raspberry Pi. My card is packaged as a TL-WN822N Ver 2.0 card but Raspbian reports the card (under lsusb) as: 0cf3:7015 Atheros Communications, Inc. TP-Link TL-WN821N v3 802.11n [Atheros AS7010-AR9287] lsmod tells me that the driver and firmware ...
