Re: Connecting to enterprice network raspberry pi 3 b+

Hi, i'm trying to connect my raspberry pi to the university network. I tried editing the wpa_supplicant.conf to the follow network={ ssid="eduroam" priority=1 proto=RSN key_mgmt=WPA-EAP pairwise=CCMP auth_alg=OPEN eap=PEAP identity="myUsername" password="myPass" phase1="peaplabel=0" phase2="auth=MS...

Re: Smart TV connected to an abroad (proxy) Raspberry Pi to access local Netflix

I think you are looking for some kind of site-2-site VPN - maybe this can get you started: https://superuser.com/questions/1042154/peering-two-sites-in-a-vpn-diy-mode-with-twin-raspberry-pi It's an old post, so maybe WireGuard would be the choice today: https://github.com/adrianmihalko/raspberrypiwi...

Re: Can't see minidlna server through RPi access point

Oh! That looks exactly like what I need to do. Will try it out later tonight and report back. Thanks! ;-) I'm pretty sure, the issue is that the broadcasts from the minidlna on 192.168.2.Y/24 never makes it to the wireless clients on 192.168.6.X/24 .. so your suspicion was right -- bridging the int...

Re: Can't see minidlna server through RPi access point

Crud. My bad. I mistyped. Your intuition is correct. Mobile devices are in .6.2 to .6.100 range. I followed a guide I found years ago. I will try to dig it up later. The APs are running latest Stretch version and fully updated. Thx . If you have a spare SD-card, could you then try to bridge the wir...

Re: Can't see minidlna server through RPi access point

All the mobile devices on the access point are between 192.168.2.2 and something like 192.168.2.100. PPi Can you verify the IPs on the devices connecting to the access point? - I've not tried to recreate your setup, but my intuition expected to see something in the 192.168.6.2-192.168.6.100 range o...

Re: Can't see minidlna server through RPi access point

Can you share the IPs for
  • the minidlna computer
  • the access point (both eth0 and wlan0)
  • a mobile device using the access point
?

Re: Trouble getting AP client ip address (hostapd/dnsmasq)

You mention 'br0' - so you are trying to bridge eth0 and wlan0? .. what do you get with brctl show ? - especially which interfaces are listed under "interfaces"? Do you have a DHCP-server on the wired network, that should hand out IPs via the bridge to the wireless clients? - or should it be DNSMASQ...

Re: raspberry hotspot / connect via bluetooth, usb...?

I think the simple solution would be to just turn your RPi into a hotspot (with hostapd) and capture all web traffic to the local machine (dnsmasq). It's been while since I played with that setup - but I have a RPi Zero W with hostapd, dnsmasq and apache, that I can connect to with my phone a view t...

Re: Connecting to eduroam wifi network

Hi ergerodr Have you tried to change the line: proto=WPA RSN to: proto=WPA2 ? If that does not solve it, try to put this in your /etc/wpa_supplicant/wpa_supplicant.conf: ctrl_interface=DIR=/var/run/wpa_supplicant GROUP=netdev update_config=1 and then use wpa_gui to configure wpa_supplicant. I just tried our corporate N network - the problem at the moment is when I watch it connect, it says wpa_supplicant wasn't configured (when compiled) with the EAP method I'm using showing a hex dump of supported methods - all zero. There may be something else wrong. My arm based android tablets can...

Re: Email on boot up script-include hostname?

The script is in python, so you are looking for the python-function, that provides the hostname: import socket print socket.gethostname() (copy from http://stackoverflow.com/questions/4271740/how-can-i-use-python-to-get-the-system-name - just the first hit) To put it in the subject, you could: msg['...
