Re: Picture Frame: From basic to more advanced

Wow, thanks so much. I was feeling pretty lost, and not sure where to start on figuring out why rotating the object behaved so different from rotating the camera. First time I read your response, I was like what did I just read. But after coming back to it and breaking down, what you were saying mak...

Re: Picture Frame: From basic to more advanced

@paddyg I tried merge object and the rotations are not working as I expect. I can rotate the cube vertically but cannot rotate it horizontally. The picture just spins around the screen clockwise or counter-clockwise instead of the entire cube. To reproduce the problem: hit x 6 times (till you are lo...

Re: Picture Frame: From basic to more advanced

@paddyg I reposted the question here with a little more detail. https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=67&t=281108 I have tried rotating the images they all load. It is always the same two planes that are black. The back picture and the left side picture are always black for me. I will s...

pi3d light all sides of a cube made of planes

I have created this simple pi3d script in the process of trying to learn the framework. I hit a roadblock where two of the sides are always black when I am rotating the camera. I suspect it is a lighting issue, but I cannot figure out how to fix it. I have tried switching the shader to 'uv_light' an...

If you're comfortable with Javascript and want to add other features that aren't purely photo viewing then https://github.com/MichMich/MagicMirror is probably a good match for you. If one of the existing photo viewer plugins doesn't work then you can write your own in node.js Thanks for the suggest...

Re: Audio Issues with HDMI to tv

After the above experimenting and tons of googling I think the following is my problem. The TV is not always listening and takes a second to pick up my audio. Your output device which you've connected via HDMI needs a couple of seconds to synchronize to the datastream it starts receiving from your s...

Picture Frame: From basic to more advanced

My main goal since I got my first pi a few years ago has been to create my own digital picture frame. The biggest challenge I have had is that I want more control over how the pictures are displayed and what transitions exist between them and maybe add notifications. I have figured out how to save m...

Re: Image viewer with transition between images

Thanks to Wolfgang Männel at the thedigitalpictureframe.com, I have discovered pi3d. After days of banging my head against my desk and feeling like a bit more then I could chew, I figure out how to implement a script that would slide a series of photos from the right to the left and seamless repeat ...
