Re: Firmware & system upgrade

That is a good thing as it means that the average user can now avoid using rpi-update (which may introduce new bugs). I attempted to fix the wrong problem by rpi-updating and ended up with the 10/28/12 version that caused xbmc to stop playing video and fail with error: 15:02:38 T:1214248000 NOTICE:...

Re: XBMC for Raspbian wheezy including airplay,nfs,dvdcss...

The above fixes problems w/ alphabetic input with regular USB keyboard. However, the bluetooth keyboard wasn't working at all, sending all it's input to the console. Similar to the above, this is fixed by changing permissions on the device before running /usr/lib/xbmc/xbmc.bin rpi2-20-~> ll /dev/inp...

Re: Updating to the 2012-09-18-wheezy-raspbian image

My feeling is that with the 9/18 raspbian image, anything over the "modest" overclock causes filesystem corruption. Perhaps the first/best thing to do when testing an overclock is a apt-get update && apt-get upgrade. Mine coredumped. Othertimes it would complete successfully but leave /var/lib/dpkg/...

Re: XBMC for Raspbian wheezy including airplay,nfs,dvdcss...

One problem I'm having is that I can use my bluetooth-connected keyboard for cursor/return/esc. But as soon as I get to a keyboard input dialog, typing doesn't input characters. But return/esc/cursors work. This once worked but stopped. Not sure what stopped it, but it was the inadvertent enabling ...

Re: Automatic setup for RTL8188CUS based wifi adapters

FYI, to determine which version raspberry pi you have, run grep Revision /proc/cpuinfo then see http://www.raspberrypi.org/archives/1929 and look up the "codes" in the first table to determine which hardware you have: MODEL AND REVISION CODE(S) Model B Revision 1.0 2 Model B Revision 1.0 + ECN0001 (...
