Re: Has anyone set up a VPN client on their Raspberry Pi?

I didn't get a VPN running in the end, I used a netbook and used the Pi to SSH into the netbook whilst it was connected to the VPN. I think I read some where that the version of Debian running on the Pi doesn't support VPN's. I think it could be to do with the Kernel not supporting AES encryption. I...

Re: Has anyone set up a VPN client on their Raspberry Pi?

No luck. What did you enter for the authentication domain ($DOMAIN)? I get this from the debug root@raspberrypi:/home/pi# pon BTGuard debug dump logfd 2 nodetach pppd options in effect: debug # (from command line) nodetach # (from command line) logfd 2 # (from command line) dump # (from command line...

Has anyone set up a VPN client on their Raspberry Pi?

Not a server, a client. So my Raspberry Pi can connect to a BTguard server and torrent discreetly. I have been trying for about a week, and I haven't found anything that works. I tried http://www.cyberciti.biz/tips/howto-configure-ubuntu-fedora-linux-pptp-client.html and found the kernel is not comp...

Re: VPN connection

Thanks I can get into the file and change it now. But I still have no idea what append means. I messed up editing the file and then appended it with 'M-A' it said 'save as a different file name?' if I said no it wouldn't save it so I said yes and now I want to change it but can't find the file. Can ...

Re: VPN connection

In that guide from the first post I get to

# vi /etc/ppp/chap-secrets

But after that I can't type anything in the file and I have no idea what append means!

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Re: VPN connection

How do you get BTGuard to work, I am either doing something really silly or it is complicated. I have tried connecting through the network manager, but it says a connection has never been made. I have also tried downloading OpenVPN but I can't get into the configure file. How did you guys do it? Tha...

Re: How to install synaptic and mount a external HDD

Thanks
I will use apt-get.

I found out why it couldn't connect to http://mirrordirector.raspbian.org. It was because it didn't like being connected to my externally powered usb hub and the ethernet. Can't think why.

What external usb hub are you using?

How to install synaptic and mount a external HDD

Hi, I got my Raspberry Pi today and I watched a video tutorial on how to setup the Raspberry Pi a week or two ago. He was using Virtual Box and so was I, until now. I am following the instructions to install Synaptic because I want to install various programs. I type aptitude into the terminal, sear...
