If you expect high traffic (e.g. LAN 3mb/s) you should think of some bandwidth limiter. I had NFS for some time on my pi but pi crashed every time I transfered something large.

This is exactly what I was looking for, thanks! As I haven't ordered anything yet I think ADC chip is the best way to go.

I just found this: Tutorial and schematic for it.
It would be nice to use with Pi, but I don't think pi has analog inputs. what kind of circuitry would be needed to connect it, and is it even possible?

I found datasheet for IR (38kHz version): http://www.mouser.com/ds/2/427/tsop341-219836.pdf. Looks like it needs 3-5mA.

I want to connect external HDD and 3G-dongle to pi so I need a hub. But how do i put the cables? Can i just plug HDD to port 1 in hub, dongle to port 2 and then connect port 3 to usb port in pi? Month late isn't long time if you talk about RS. At first 'express-interest' failed -> 2 month delay. Then after ordering it took 4,5 months to arrive so it was half a year. Only bright side is that I got 512mb version.

It was android phone. Phone didn't start to charge (although at first connect charging led flashed once) and i couldnt choose any of the modes because device was not recognized.
