Re: Here's some of the games I have running on my Pi4

OK. age2_x1.exe runs for me. age2_x1.4.exe does not. It gets to about where the previous exe would show a window, and I get a blank dialog with nothing but an "OK" button. Pressing that, it exits. Nothing useful looking in the console output. age2_x2.exe: 2759|SIGSEGV @0x432b6900 (???) (x86pc=0x4212...

Re: Here's some of the games I have running on my Pi4

I see AoE2 on there. Do you have The Conquerors running, or just the base game? I'd love to get Wololokingdoms running, but it just dies. So does The Conquerors. I can get the base game running, but it's been rather obsoleted. Some additions you could make: UT2k4 runs about as well as UT99, oddly. A...

Re: How to setup Minecraft 1.16.1 on Pi4

It also works with voxelmap but then becomes a little too sluggish for my taste. Aside from Sodium etc, this is my main motivation to get the launcher working (VoxelMap is my mod :) ). I don't notice any performance drop with it active, but I've got everything set on a pretty low render distance on...

Re: Backing up Minecraft server, script not working

well, do you actually have a drive mounted at /media/nas/.minecraftbackups ? The guide is just using that as an example. If you haven't mounted a drive there, the script won't be able to write any files there. The error is "No such file or directory"

Re: OpenArena and Other OpenGL Games RPI 4

just FYI opengl2 renderer seems to work now after the september updates. The framerate is abysmal though. It's like some opengl2 function is not working in hardware and is emulated (correctly now!) in software or something. Twice to three times the framerate with opengl1 renderer. I'll be sticking w...

Re: Brutal Wolfenstein 3D and GZDoom 3.82 Legacy Doom Engine Source port Linux

the best approach to solving this problem is waiting for graphic driver updates to be uploaded to the Debian/Rapbian repository this does seem to have worked. The bugs I posted about earlier disappeared after the updates in September (raspbian Buster, pi 4). Thanks for your thread! Got everything w...

Re: Brutal Wolfenstein 3D and GZDoom 3.82 Legacy Doom Engine Source port Linux

All my attempts have been on the pi 4. The latest gzdoom source won't compile as the pi 4 does not have the needed opengl support (pi 4 does up to opengl 2.1). So a qzdoom or gzdoom legacy build is necessary. And yeah it is with no mods (though it also happens with mods). I'm happy to keep answering...

Re: Brutal Wolfenstein 3D and GZDoom 3.82 Legacy Doom Engine Source port Linux

I do not have that issue in software mode. In opengl mode I do have it with lzdoom, gzdoom-legazy, qzdoom etc. Anything using opengl2. I have it with actual doom, freedoom, and brutal wolfenstein. So I'd like to ask again: can you confirm that you in fact do not have that issue when using opengl? An...

I managed to get it working by copying start4.elf and fixup4.dat from raspbian onto the gentoo card's boot partition. You may look into updating those? Had you run rpi-update on the Raspbian image you copied these /boot files from? The image as shipped has the 20190718 boot firmware, which may or m...

screen was blank for me on a pi 4 connected via HDMI to a 2560x1440 screen. Edited all sorts of stuff in config.txt to force it to 1920x1080, be single screen only etc. No matter what, I would get the rainbow pattern, the four raspberries, a bunch of console output, then around when it looked like X...

Starcraft on Pi 4

Running Starcraft on the pi 4 with Raspbian Buster is pretty straightforward. I didn't need to compile a custom Wine or kernel. The biggest hurdle was getting it to run fullscreen in the correct aspect ratio (on a widescreen monitor). Will detail that. First things first: I copied over a previously ...
