Re: miniHDMI to microHDMI ?

Unless your miniHDMI to VGA is an active device, it won't work with any Pi at all. And, FYI, the Pi0/Pi0W/Pi0WH boards use miniHDMI. My adapter is a microHDMI to VGA, which is why I was asking for a mini(Pi0) to micro adapter. Are we at x purposes here ? Thanks for the warning, I had seen such else...

Re: miniHDMI to microHDMI ?

Mini HDMI male to Micro HDMI female does seem to be pretty rare (interestingly the opposite seems rather easier to find). I found one on Amazon US (unfortunately if I edit the link to change .com to .co.uk I get a different product) https://www.amazon.com/Cablecc-Socket-Female-Convertor-Adapter/dp/...

Re: miniHDMI to microHDMI ?

just as cheap as the time and headaches you will suffer messing around with various adapters. Indeed :) yes cost benefit analysis is ongoing ! IF such an adapter is not available, or costs an arm&leg, then we must cost a miniHDMI > VGA adapter vs. an HDMI monitor :) ELSE the price reduced 4B2G with...

Re: miniHDMI to microHDMI ?

I have a micro(male)HDMI to VGA adapter [that works well with my Linx tablet, microHDMI output] and am contemplating getting a Pi Zero - but it has a mini HDMI output I think ??
I only have VGA monitors.

Re: RPi3 official PSU solved my problems. But why?

Perhaps your PSU has ripple or noise on its output if it is not well smoothed and/or filtered ? I have no idea how tolerant of ripple a Pi is ??? Perhaps try an extra capacitance across the supply, not the best. Better : perhaps try an inline inductor (at only5v no margin for a resistor) plus a capa...

It would be impossible to run a scheme like that over multiple sellers and even countries. If we could have a better system, we would do! Thank you for your well considered and interesting reply. Rigid or centrally directed I am sure it would be impossible, and yes if there was a better system I am...

Re: Pi Zero W multi purchases

various quotes in no particular order ;- are a One-Per-Customer introductory price (so everyone can get at least one cheap computer). primary Pi distributors declined to carry the Pi0 and Pi0W because the margins were too low for their taste. No one makes much money on a $5 SBC anyway. so how about ...

NO, NO NO NO!!!! IT IS NOT, I repeat NOT an antenna connector! Its ONLY use is to connect test equipment during the FCC tests. And if anyone wants to ponder upon the triangular antenna : https://magpi.raspberrypi.org/articles/pi-zero-w-wireless-antenna-design which is a (slightly distorted) slot antenna. Re: Pi zero W possible to increase wi-fi strength/range?

You could try a flat metallic sheet spaced 1/4 wavelength behind the zeroW ( remember those big Band1 'H' antennas ? ) the reflector was a rod 1/4wave-approx behind ) Or to be more adventurous, a corner, or trough, reflector out of wire mesh as is often seen on high-gain UHF yagi antennas these days...

That is true, it is because they are leptons and have no quarks.
Only the hadrons (proton, neutron etc.) have up, down, top and bottom quarks.
