rt5370 wifi dongle that turned out to be a RTL8188 dongle.

I have a Pi3B+running as a media server using pCP and found the internal wifi not strong enough inside its metal box. I bought an external usb wifi adapter which said suitable for pi with a rt5370 chipset and external aerial. It arrived but does not have a rt5370 chipset but a Realtek RTL8188ftv chi...

A perfect excuse now for you to upgrade to a Pi 4. I like to look at the positive side of it.
Nearly was an excuse but its working perfectly now.

Re: USB Blown is there any USB output on GP10.

The chip was pretty charred so I poked it a bit and it fell apart, I checked none of its remaining leads were shorting then as on on youtube connected pin 1 on GP10 to pp27 and it worked again and USBs too. If the chip is current limit will that effect me at all? Back in business I hope. If you rea...

Re: USB Blown is there any USB output on GP10.

As other people have pointed out, there is no USB on the GPIO header. The chip you've blown up is a AP2553W6-7 . No guarantees replacing that switch will fix it. There may be damage to other components like the LAN7515 USB hub/Ethernet chip. It is GPIO not GP10 BTW. It stands for General-Purpose In...

Re: USB Blown is there any USB output on GP10.

Next permutation then pCP is running, I can use a GP10 sound card, I can ssh if I need. All I need for my music player, ( pCP. LMS and Jivelite for the 7" screen) is air mouse control like eBay item number: 123540458629 But Its USB and I don't have any USBs now. How do I control my player without us...

Re: USB Blown is there any USB output on GP10.

The LAN9512/4 USB/Ethernet Hub Chipset could still be ok as pCP does detect the network. No soundcard as no USB. Is there any way to access the single USB2 BUS.via the GP10 and would that help? The blown device is a BK8oB, do you know what that does and if I removed it and powered the USB sockets wi...

USB Blown is there any USB output on GP10.

Hello I was using an external USB hub on my P1 3B+ and unfortunately powered the hub on 12v. After a 2 sec whiff of smoke from a component BK8oB near the USB end of the GP10 header on the Pi, I switched off and realised my mistake. The USBs do not work now, no 5v supply, the BK8oB is charred but the...

Re: Can I set video mode to av on Pi model 1

I have a 3.5mm AV lead with 3 connections on the jack plug that does work on the Pi 1. Does the Pi 3B+ also default to AV and is it the same cable.

Re: Can I set video mode to av on Pi model 1

That worked perfectly, AV from a Pi model 1. The problem was the AV lead was open circuit so it does give AV output as you said.
The next thing is to get AV from my Pi 3B+.

I have just found a TV with an AV input so I will connect the Pi 1 up and try again. That will eliminate my AV monitors and also the cable.

That didn't work. Fresh copy of both pCP then moode with no HDMI connection just av and nothing. The 7" monitor can cycle through vga, hdmi and av but nothing came over av.

Can I set video mode to av on Pi model 1

Hello I am running pCP and LMS with jivelite on a Pi model 1. It works fine in HDMI mode and output but I would like to try a 4 inch av screen. I can read config.txt on the laptop. What would I need to change to output av and I am unsure of editing it. Everything begins with a #, what does it mean. ...

How to directly connect screen driver board to Pi.

Hello I have a Pi 1, soon to be a Pi 3 B+, and would like to connect it to my 7 inch tft/lcd Pi screen and driver board. I have it connected now by hdmi but as the Pi has so many connectors and the screen driver board too I wondered if there was a way to directly connect it. Is that possible. Thanks...

Re: Audiophile player for Wheezy

I retract my last post.
pCP is ideal but I can't get any sound. I am using a cheap but not bad Pcm2704 usb DAC running headphones to test. I can set the player to my main servers M-DAC and it plays through my main system, but not the Pcm2704 on the Pi or the television monitors HDMI sound.
Any ideas.

Re: Audiophile player for Wheezy

I think it's too complicated for me with no knowledge of Pi's. I did get lms running once but not sure how and can't again. I like pCP as it's light whereas volumino and moode are pretty large, volumino in particular is massive (bloat ware). Daphile is not open source so not completely configurable ...

Sorry everyone I don't know how to use the forum and did not know that you had replied.
I have a decent hi fi system or decent enough for my ears fed from an Audiolab M-Dac.
I will download The latest Raspian and come back.
Thanks for the replies that I have rudely ignored but by mistake.

Re: STICKY: Introduce yourself!

Hello to all.
I am interested in hifi and run a daphile server and as I have a pi 1 would like to use it for similar and compare the two. I am new to the pi but interested as everything on it is or seems to be open source and adjustable.
I am retired but my brain still works.
