Glad you have it up running on RP2 and I agree with you. Gambas is great and evolves quickly with active developers, I actually prefer it over Python.

I also see there is a buffer size setting but can't find any documentation so maybe you should ask the dev team on the mailing list. They usually are very helpfull.

Looks like you miss alot of packages that Gambas 3 depends on. Myself is running Debian Wheezy (i.e not Raspian) but try install the packages below and then try install Gambas 3 again... sudo apt-get install build-essential autoconf libbz2-dev libfbclient2 libmysqlclient-dev unixodbc-dev libpq-dev l...

I compiled Gambas 3.5.4 on Debian Wheezy without problems using the information at the Gambas site and also run it on Debian Squeeze.

Re: vb6

can i work in visual basic in raspberry ? Check out Gambas 3, it's the Linux worlds "Visual Basic" except it is much better! Gambas have a great IDE and very active developers, below is a screen shot of the IDE and link to the Gambas site. http://a.fsdn.com/con/app/proj/gambas/screenshots/315121.jp...

Re: programming pi like windows !!

Gambas is like Visual Basic for Linux and works great on RasPi. Have a simple but effective IDE with toolboxes etc. (see better screenshot on Gambas site) and a very active development team adding/fixing stuff to it. http://gambas.sourceforge.net/2012-01-01.png http://gambas.sourceforge.net/en/main....

Gambas is another alternative. It's like Visual Basic for Linux and works great on RasPi. If it is the best language for you I can't tell but I like it alot and there is a very active development team adding/fixing stuff to it. http://gambas.sourceforge.net/2012-01-01.png http://gambas.sourceforge.n...

Re: FTDI USB Serial Hangs

I have similar problems with FT232BM based USB to serial adapter. Solved aplying folowing patch to 3.6.11+ kernel. Sorry for a stupid question but exactly how can I apply this patch to my 3.6.11+ kernel? Currently I'm forcing the USB to 1.1 using the "dwc_otg.speed=1" workaround but as said before ...

Re: Gambas & WiringPi

I doubt it's a "Rev 1 vs Rev 2" issue, looking at wiringPi's documentation Gordon have tested it on both versions and it should work on both. My suggestion is that you test writing a tiny CLI program that just toggles one of the pins and then log in as root via SSH and run it there. If it doesn't wo...

Using i2cset and i2cget along with Shell in Gambas 3 works but using wiringPi's I2C library makes the code easier to work with IMHO. Below are Gambas 3 declarations for Gordons I2C stuff...
