Re: RPi4 - VLC video won't fill screen

I haven't tried YouTube yet but I did play one of the same videos in the command line OMXPlayer and it worked perfectly. I will try YouTube and report back.

RPi4 - VLC video won't fill screen

I just got a 4-inch 800x400 LCD touch screen for my Pi 4 and I am running Raspbian. I loaded the LCD drivers and it reoriented the screen from portrait to landscape nicely and set the proper resolution. Everything is clear and crisp. However, I thought I would test it by playing some MKV videos in V...

Re: Why i had to take back my PI4B.

That's funny because I bought one of those tablets and it played movies and games nice but I had to return it because it was so difficult to get to the GPIO pins.

Re: Pi4 Cooling

I got this case that is nice and sturdy and comes with a fan and heatsinks but you might still want to use a fan shim with it to attach the fan so you have access to all of the GPIO pins. I wish that RPF would have made it easier by putting a separate fan header on the board for active cooling, espe...

We are making the 4GB as fast as we can, but demand is outstripping supply, so you might have to wait a bit. Just keep checking the reseller links on the front page of the website.
The best (maybe only) way to catch up with demand for the 4GB versions is to come out with a 6GB version. ;)

Re: When does Amazon recieve the new Raspberry Pi's?

This was the best deal I found on a raspberry pi 4, 2GB kit this morning from Canakit and I should have it by Monday (4 days).

Re: Project plan: cistern level monitor and control

I am an engineer and on one project we did some long-term instrumentation in an outdoor setting. We were mounting strain gauges and we used a belt and suspender approach to keep the soldered wire leads watertight. We put heat shrink tubing over each of the wires, then after soldering, we coated the ...

Re: Reasoning behind dual Micro HDMI, and potential future alternatives?

For those with only a DVI-D connection on the monitor they are using for their Pi, here is an inexpensive adapter that provides a conversion to HDMI-female. https://www.monoprice.com/product?p_id=2081 Monoprice also has a good price on their 10-foot micro to full size HDMI connector cables. https://...

Re: Pi4b J2 Run Global_En as power

I was kind of hoping they would put a fan header on the board for the same reasons stated by the OP. Seems like a simple thing to do that would keep the 40-pin header "clean". With the performance increases making it viable to use the current incarnation as a lite desktop device, active cooling (com...
