Re: Pi 4 Max Size & Fastest Supported MSDCard?

There was a Twitter post from Raspberry Pi themselves a few days ago stating that there was NO limit on size. I purchase a 128Gb Sandisk and just replicated the SD from the store using the SD copy app. Works fine and extended the size of my usable disk to the SD size.

Re: SD Card Copier Hung on Copying Partition 5 of 5

I stopped the process and just restarted it and it completed this time around. I have swapped the cards out and can now boot of the new card. Strange, but as its worked not going to spend too much time trying to replicate and fully resolve. Thanks for the advice.

SD Card Copier Hung on Copying Partition 5 of 5

I am trying to copy my 16Gb original disk onto a new SD card which is 128Gb is size. I simply loaded the new card into a card reader and plugged it into one of the USB ports not used by my keyboard and mouse. It must be reading it because I had 2 options under the drop down for "Copy From Device" an...

Re: Set "wait for network before reboot" and then switched off wifi

IP added as the Plex instructions called for it.

Does anybody know where the config switch “wait for network before boot” is stored. If I remove this surely all my troubles will go away?

Re: Set "wait for network before reboot" and then switched off wifi

Hi all, I removed the ip address from the cmdline.txt and also inserted the init=/bin/sh at the end. Still not booting. It MUST be the "wait until network before boot" switch which is the problem. I can see the rainbow screen and also the safe boot screen but then nothing. Where is the wait until ne...

Re: Create new Image SD Card - Pi 4

once completed shutdown the pi swap your existing SD card in the pi for the new one and it should just boot as before , you will need to run sudo raspi-config and use that to expand the OS to use all of your new SD card . You don't need to do that. The SD Card Copier automatically resizes the data ...

I saw a 20C drop, just with the FanShim fitted, no heatsink. The USB ports were noticeably cooler as well after 10 mins of the fan running.
According to the FanShim inhouse tests they run cooler without the heatsink than with.

Re: Set "wait for network before reboot" and then switched off wifi

try booting into single user mode and then you should be able to edit /boot/config.txt? that's how I always rescue the servers that die on me, worth a shot. you should defnitely be able to reverse the change without re-flashing the OS, just keep trying if the first attempt doesn't work. Linux has m...

Re: Set "wait for network before reboot" and then switched off wifi

You can reinstate “don’t wait for network” if you prefer. It doesn’t matter in your setup. — Problem is it won’t boot up, can’t see anything. It looks like your TV is not on the Ethernet network, Or the Pi although connected is not configured properly. — was perfect until I switched off the WiFi an...

Set "wait for network before reboot" and then switched off wifi

Hi, very new to all this. Bought my 10 year old a Raspberry Pi 4 for him to make a Plex Server. It came with NOOBS and we installed Rasbian with no problems and then also Plex. As part of the setup I had to hard code the IP address into a config file. That was easy and all going well. Then I made a ...
