Best regards

Re: Ubuntu 20.10 PI4 & Firefox / Chromium

Or, you could; add this deb: deb http://loboris.eu/raspi_repo/ raspi main in /etc/apt/sources.list add the key for it to work: wget -O - http://loboris.eu/raspi_repo/lobo-raspi-key.gpg | sudo apt-key add - sudo apt update -y sudo apt-get install --no-install-recommends chromium Now you have Chromium...

Here another approach - video by " Raspberry Pi Projects and More" https://youtu.be/OCG388hc5Jg
Watched the video -- couldn't get chromium installed. always failed. gave up, went back to using Debian's chromium.
Wouldn't recommend. :(

I work for Raspberry Pi, and yet I don't have an 8GB Pi4. And it has never been a problem.
May I ask why? why don't you own an 8GB version? :)
If I worked for RPI, first thing I'd do is get the 8GB version. :D

I love my RPI4, I really do; but see no need for anything bigger than 8GB.

It's very annoying as they seem to be blocking my mobile provider BT that l don't have an issue with anywhere else.
What's the IP address? I can remove it from the banned database.
I had this! panicked, forgot I was using a VPN. stopped using the VPN and could get on fine. :)

Re: New Ubuntu Mate arm64 RaspberryPi 4 image (minimal and server images also available)

FYI; using the OP's debian repo on Ubuntu 20.10 gives you Chromium with hardware acceleration. if you use the snap version, you do not get hardware acceleration.
Not sure if anyone else knew or tried it.

I did and it's working flawlessly.

for those that get problems with bluetooth.

just add to the startup app, replace "your-password" with your log in password:

Code: Select all

sh -c "echo "your-password" | sudo -S systemctl restart bluetooth"
then your bluetooth stuff should work.

Thanks for the workaround.

Yeah well they really have blown Raspberry Pi OS out the window with the release of this! The speed, the *no* lag. it's absolutely amazing! While it is impressive to have full Ubuntu running on a Pi, I was underwhelmed with the startup time. It took about a year and half to boot on my 8GB Pi (from ...

Solved the problem by looking at /boot/config.txt for RaspiOS. Under the section for

Code: Select all

 [pi4]
was an entry

Code: Select all

# USB Type-C Host
dtoverlay=dwc2,dr_mode=host
Adding this to the /boot/config.txt on the Ubuntu SD card was all that was needed.

Did you place it in /boot/firmware/config.txt?
