Re: Trouble Auto starting Program

Ah, well that explains that. But then why are there two versions in my file system? I saw that the -pi version is the most recent so what is the point of both?

Re: Trouble Auto starting Program

SOLVED Thank you for your help. I was editing the incorrect location. 2 things were wrong - I needed an absolute path to my file : @/home/pi/bin/program not @~/bin/program which I had seen in examples - I needed to put it the correct place: ~/.config/lxsession/LXDE/autostart I was using these autos...

Trouble Auto starting Program

Hi All, I am having trouble getting my program to autostart on boot. My file is a Qt C++ RPi executable and I can easily start it through the command line or by clicking on it. I have just finished the following (it worked before dist-upgrade) - apt-get update - apt-get upgrade - apt-get dist-upgrad...

Re: Interfacing a DAC088S085 over SPI help

NOTE Just realized I didn't add a piece of info needed in case you try this. The original spi code for the ADC has a bug and needs to set a certain variable or will throw errors. This has the solution. This also solves an issue with MCP3008. https://raspberry-projects.com/pi/programming-in-c/spi/us...

Re: Raspberry Pi 3 B+ GPIO23 set to "Power switch"

Additional Info followed this advice and this bug gets stranger. https://www.raspberrypi.org/documentation/configuration/config-txt/gpio.md Setting it in the config.txt did not set the gpio correctly. Another thing I tried: "raspi-gpio get 23" return the gpio as an output if I set it using "raspi-g...

Re: Interfacing a DAC088S085 over SPI help

Solved Go check out the attached code to figure out how to get the spi part of this software functions. Can get solid performance out of the DAC and the code has been reliable. bool dac::dacOpen() { // Open the SPI connection if (!_spi.spiOpen("/dev/spidev0.0", SPI_MODE_0, 1000000, 8)) //CS1 DAC re...

Raspberry Pi 3 B+ GPIO23 set to "Power switch"

Hi all, I am having an issue with version 2016-02-03-raspbian-jessie(8.0) setting gpio23 to an unknown mode that I cannot release or remove it from. On startup, this gpio does not show up in: "ls /sys/class/gpio" It shows up in: "sudo cat /sys/kernel/debug/gpio" shows as a follows: " gpio-23 (Power ...

Interfacing a DAC088S085 over SPI help

Hi all, I could use some help interfacing over spi with this chip. Mostly I need help understanding how to set up spi with C++. My current setup is a raspberry pi controlling a DAC for a precision voltage control of pressure controllers. I am new to SPI and am unsure how to set up the initial variab...
