I can confirm that the Anker PowerCore 10000 PD will work, or should work anyway. Well, I couldn't get the dongle to work, but I did figure out why the onboard wifi was so slow...I needed to actually select a channel, and not just leave it as 'automatic'. iwlist wlan0 channel Gives an output of the channels compatible with the device. It shows 5G starting at channel 36 (5.18 GHz)...

I'm trying to create a wireless NAS and wifi hotspot using an RPi3B+, and the latest Raspbian Stretch. Using the onboard wifi works as a hotspot, but trying to stream 4K VR videos to my VR headset is choppy, while streaming from my PC using the same USB drive is smooth. I ran speedtest from the head...
