Re: Raspberry Pi 4B and Akasa adapter compatibility

Has anyone used this adapter AK-AU3-07BK from Akasa with a Raspberry Pi 4B and a 2.5 inch SSD to boot an operating system from it? There should be a sticky thread on the front page with an up-to-date list of compatible usb-to-sata3 and usb-to-nvme adapters for different Raspberry Pis. A) what Chips...

Re: STICKY: USB-MSD boot EEPROM third update - 2020-06-15

So USB312SAT3CB works with RPI4B? I tried booting LibreELEC on an RPI3B+ using that adapter and it did not work. Yes, this is one of the most recommended adapters. But I think the ASM1153E is more popular because of its price. So let me get this straight: USB312SAT3CB is compatible with RPI4B but i...

Kendek from you experience what firmware do you recommend for ASM1153E with UNMAP/TRIM support:
140509_A1_82_40 or 141126_A1_EE_82 or maybe another if it is available ?
thank you

Re: USB-MSD boot EEPROM update - 2020-05-28

... The current version 2020-06-03 is a potential candidate for promotion to 'stable' and eventually 'production/critical'. Thanks. So which one of those (stable & production/critical) is the one that adds the USB-booting feature to the official downloadable Raspberry Pi OS image? This is the b...

Any ETA for the official stable release of USB-boot firmware for Raspberry Pi 4 B? Are we talking about this summer? This year? Next year? Yeah, if you check the latest topic . Can RPI 4 make a reliable NAS?

I'm thinking about running 64-bit Ubuntu Server 20.04 from an external SSD on an Raspberry Pi 4 B. I would mainly use it to serve NFS shares to my local network. Can RPI 4 make a good NAS device? Is it safe to store sensitive personal data to such a system? Is RPI 4 a reliable device from data integ...

RPI 4 as an OpenVPN server using IPv6?

I have a project in mind. The basic idea is that I want a secure OpenVPN connection to my home network from outside it. I want to be able to access all devices on my home network. I'm going to install either Raspbian or Ubuntu-RPI on a Raspberry Pi 4. Then I'm going to install an OpenVPN software (P...

Re: Recording TV with Raspberry Pi

You do not give any information on where you are based. If you are a UK TV Licence payer, there is a huge amount of TV and radio programmes which can be legally down loaded using get-iplayer. It is quicker and easier to use this to download BBC programmes than it is to use tvheadend and the TVHat. ...

Recording TV with Raspberry Pi

I would like to build my own digital TV recording device using a Raspberry Pi 3 B+ and a TV HAT. I will record DVB-T2 broadcasts. I plan on using an external USB HDD as a storage place where to save recorded TV programs. I would like to watch these recordings on my TV, which would be connected to th...
