Re: Cloud Gaming

I tried running Stadia. It was not good at all. Granted I was using a WIFI connection, I feel that even with a wired connection, the RPi4 does not have enough horse power to make any game playable. I only have the 4gb model, so perhaps it will be different w/ an RPi4 w/ 8gb and wired connection?

Re: Running Vassal On The Raspberry Pi?

It appears the Java version I have installed, Java version 11.0.7, is not supported by Vassal.
I think you need an older version to be able to run Vassal on the Rpi.

Re: cannot run anything with box86

Whenever I saw a certain game was "not an executable file." I was either running the x86 version or the 64 bit variant of the game.
Either way, it will not work.

If you type file [nameOfFileYouAreRunning] (e.g. file ./PapersPlease), it will tell you if it's 32 or 64 bit.

I downloaded the Linux version and it seems to run fine. Not sure how to play it yet and have not added a VMOD, but I think this should run ok on the RPI4 at least.

Re: Zandronum

The bad news is it's Zandronum 3.1 (some beta version). If you are using doomseeker, it will not join any of the games due to version differences. I found out the other day this is not entirely accurate. There are several 3.1 Alpha servers running that I was able to join. There doesn't ever appear ...

Re: Installing new games

Hi, onegin.

Do you have a particular game you are trying to install?
There are some games in the package manager provided in Raspbian, but they aren't that great.

If you have a particular game in mind, there may be a thread explaining how to install it.

Re: Fallout

You can use DOSBOX for Fallout. I'm not sure where/how you get the DOS version of Fallout, but apparently it came with both Windows and DOS versions when it was sold on CD..

Here is a Youtube video of Fallout playing on the RPI4:

Ptitseb, the guy on Open Pandora, has made a build which has RPi4 flags to allow disabling FMOD and EFX. See my thread on Zandronum here: https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=271061 Good news is it works.. and it works well. I can play complex doom, and many other mods on it. The bad n...

Re: Angband 4.2.0 with SDL2 - Free Role Playing Game

Hi, Moonmarch. I got Doomseeker and Zandronum working fine. It's just virtually all the people who use this are on Zandronum 3.0. Pititseb ported 3.1. This makes it unable to join any of the games. It sucks, but I doubt it's worth anyone's time to try and port Zandronum 3.0 to Rpi. I was actually ju...

Hi, Moonmarch. Do you ever play multplayer on any of the doom mods you play? I've been trying forever to get Doomseeker and Zandronum to work on my RPi4. I've got Zandronum running (thanks to Ptitseb), but unfortunately it's the wrong version of Zandronum.. So you can't play mutlplayer (using doomse...

Hi, ShadowTech. I noticed noone replied to your post, so I thought I'd give it a shot. As far as downloading a NES emulator on the RPi4, it's pretty easy: pi@raspberrypi:~ $ sudo apt-get install mednaffe Reading package lists... Re: pixel dungeon on raspberry?

You need the liblwjgl-java package installed to get the liblwjgl.so and libjinput.so files. A note about the libjinput-linux.so file, I forgot to mention that this was libjinput.so renamed to libjinput -linux .so. I will update my step-step reflecting this. Sorry for the confusion. So, first install...

Re: pixel dungeon on raspberry?

I was using lwjgl-3.2.3... Perhaps I need a different version?

There is no pre-compiled lwjgl-2.9.3 (next rev down) that I can find..

I tried compiling the source, but I am not sure I am doing it right because it uses "ant" rather than cmake and make.

If anyone get's any further, please share.

Re: pixel dungeon on raspberry?

You need to install/build libgdx, then take your libgdx.so binary, rename it to libgdxarm.so, and insert it in the .jar (it's a zip file). You may need to also add libgdx-freetype.so renamed as libgdx-reetypearm.so and libjinput-linux.so and libjwjgl.so in the JAR. (This is how I have done it on Pa...

Raspbian Buster on RPi4 - Remains in Lower Game Resolution when Exiting to Desktop

Hey, guys. Whenever I play GZDoom and Zandronum on the Raspberry Pi in fullscreen at a lower resolution (720p, 800x600, etc.) than the native desktop resolution (1080p in my case), the resolution never returns to 1080P after I exit the game. I think it may have something to do w/ it crashing after t...

Re: League of Legends: yes, with raspberry pi 3

I didn't think WINE (or Play on Linux, or Lutris) would work on RPi4 because although it's a Linux application, it's X86 based. So, I'm not sure how you would play something like League of Legends.. Unless you had an X86 emulator running Play on Linux, running League of Legends? Just like ghans said...

So close!

Do you think it could be related to sound, just like the compiled zandronum? Does it crash when you add the "-nosound" command line option?
