Re: VERY Basic GUI to Control GPIO Pins?

Ok, that didn't work. I'll have to figure out how to get all my image files into a zip file on the pi.

Re: VERY Basic GUI to Control GPIO Pins?

Hey guys I'm back. Just thought I'd post an update. I got my memory card yesterday and flashed it with Raspian Buster. Since then I've been working on the project and it hasn't locked up not once. No more problems at all. With that being said I've attached my project. Take a look at the progress I'v...

Re: VERY Basic GUI to Control GPIO Pins?

So I'm guessing something got seriously corrupted. I plugged the sd card into my work laptop to flash it and it immediately shut my laptop down. Crashed it. Don't know how what or why, but my laptop will not turn on at all now. Plugged the sd card into the pi and nothing changed. Still wont load des...

Re: VERY Basic GUI to Control GPIO Pins?

Ok, so I take back what I said about no problems yet. I started working on the program after my last post, hit save and got an error. Not enough space left on device. Impossible. And something about the program having edits outside of the editor?? Something like that. But it is absolutely impossible...

Re: Desktop will not load

Good Advice! Thank you! I already reset the pi, but it's not the first time this has happened. I'm trying to recreate the problem now. I'll enable the ssh and go that route. Thank you again!

Re: VERY Basic GUI to Control GPIO Pins?

I'm using the power supply that came with the raspberry pi. I bought the starter kit and am still using it. I still have not seen the lightning bolt. As for connections, just the hat, a keyboard, monitor and mouse. Below are the links for the Pi I bought and the relay board. When I wrote the post ye...

Re: VERY Basic GUI to Control GPIO Pins?

I can't think of any reason why it would either. I'm not running on VNC or SSH. I've just got a monitor plugged in and programming straight from the desktop. As for my relays, I have one hat stacked directly on the raspberry pi. the hat has 3 relays and I currently only have two wired up for testing...

Desktop will not load

Can somebody please help me with an issue I'm having. My raspberry pi will not load the desktop. It goes all the way through the bootup just fine, but when it's time for the desktop to appear, all I get is a flashing line in the upper left hand corner. I haven't loaded any programs that start on pow...

Re: VERY Basic GUI to Control GPIO Pins?

@rpiMike, Have you had any issues with your desktop since running this code? I've had to reset my pi to default twice since I added the background. The first time I had just saved the program after adding the background and changing the buttons. By changing I mean I just switched the png files. It w...

Re: VERY Basic GUI to Control GPIO Pins?

Lol I had started a forum where I had almost the exact same issues as Sgt Bilko and Mike referred me to this forum. Here's the link to my original post. I found it comical that I had said almost the same thing as Sgt Bilko. Check out my original post. https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php...

Re: VERY Basic GUI to Control GPIO Pins?

It worked!!! I can't believe I missed that! I made sure the case was correct in the file name but missed the extension. That's frustrating in itself! Thank you so much!! I have just one more question, is there a way to set an image as the background? I've found another tutorial on that that suggests...

Sorry about that. Here's the code: from guizero import App, PushButton, Slider, Text import RPi.GPIO as GPIO class button: def __init__(self,index,image,grid,gpio): self.index = index self.image = image self.grid = grid self.gpio = gpio def general_callback(n): print('general_callback()',n) if GPIO....

Re: VERY Basic GUI to Control GPIO Pins?

Ok, below is the code. The only thing I changed in it was the first button callout to BiLev. That's the name of the button. I've attached the files too. I changed the file names to match the cases to match too. I still get the black screen and a whole list of errors. I've listed those errors too. fr...

Re: VERY Basic GUI to Control GPIO Pins?

Ok, so as I mentioned in one of my other posts I'm a controls engineer and I design industrial interfaces. I designed an interface for this project in a matter of hours through that software. As I said before I've been at this for weeks. The software is just sooooo different. But I took the buttons ...

Re: VERY Basic GUI to Control GPIO Pins?

Ok, I reset my raspberry pi back to default because I had downloaded so many different softwares that the pi wasn't even acting right anymore. So I started over from scratch. I followed the guizero installation instructions. Then I imported the code above and I keep getting this error. I tried the e...
