Re: Autostart wont work

I figured it out. By adjusting my title window and my picture size, I got it right where I want it and I figured out what the white line is. It's the border of my background image. It's the same issue I had with my buttons. I have no idea how to get rid of the white border around my png's. I tried a...

Re: Autostart wont work

I tried attaching a couple pictures but for whatever reason I can't attach anything at all. It keeps saying my files are too large. Even when I put them in a zip file. I did try editing that line and changing the numbers and it didn't do anything. I tried doubling them and got not change. I did enab...

Re: Autostart wont work

Ok, I'm back. The autostart works, but do you know how to make the screen full screen? The background itself is fullscreen, but the "application window" Is only about half the screen with a white line separating the window from the background.

Re: Autostart wont work

That almost got it. The window terminal opened and stayed this time, but it was just a black screen. Do I need to add something to my code? I have attached a zip file with my project in it.

Re: Autostart wont work

ok this time I tried sudo nano /etc/xdg/lxsession/LXDE-pi/autostart and then @/usr/bin/python3 /home/pi/Camaro/main.py This time it let me edit it, and it almost worked. The pi rebooted and right after the desktop started the window for the project appeared for about half a second then disappeared. ...

Re: Autostart wont work

I tried the
/etc/xdg/lxsession/LXDE-pi/autostart
and it told me permission denied. I'm set for auto login so I'm not sure why I would be denied anything. Any ideas?

Hello Everybody, I have a project I've been working on for quite awhile and it's finally finished, but I can't get the auto start to work. I'm on a raspberry pi3B+, I'm running Python3.7, I'm using Guizero for my gui graphics. I've listed below the links to all the methods I've tried. I've checked o...

Re: VERY Basic GUI to Control GPIO Pins?

Ok, I opened my terminal and entered crontab -e Then I selected "1" for the nano edit window. I went to the bottom and entered @ reboot python3.7 /home/pi/Camaro/main.py & I added the 3.7 to python because python3 didn't work. python3.7 didn't work either. Should I try one of the other editing optio...

Re: VERY Basic GUI to Control GPIO Pins?

Hi guys, I'm back with another question I'm hoping you can help me out with. I've completed the project but cannot get the auto start to work. I've attached a zip file with the finished project in it. Please take a look, you guys helped out with it quite a bit. I've tried several methods and none of...

Re: VERY Basic GUI to Control GPIO Pins?

Hey guys I'm back. Just thought I'd post an update. I got my memory card yesterday and flashed it with Raspian Buster. Since then I've been working on the project and it hasn't locked up not once. No more problems at all. With that being said I've attached my project. Take a look at the progress I'v...

Re: VERY Basic GUI to Control GPIO Pins?

So I'm guessing something got seriously corrupted. I plugged the sd card into my work laptop to flash it and it immediately shut my laptop down. Crashed it. Don't know how what or why, but my laptop will not turn on at all now. Plugged the sd card into the pi and nothing changed. Still wont load des...

Re: VERY Basic GUI to Control GPIO Pins?

Ok, so I take back what I said about no problems yet. I started working on the program after my last post, hit save and got an error. Not enough space left on device. Impossible. And something about the program having edits outside of the editor?? Something like that. But it is absolutely impossible...

Re: Desktop will not load

Good Advice! Thank you! I already reset the pi, but it's not the first time this has happened. I'm trying to recreate the problem now. I'll enable the ssh and go that route. Thank you again!

Re: VERY Basic GUI to Control GPIO Pins?

I'm using the power supply that came with the raspberry pi. I bought the starter kit and am still using it. I still have not seen the lightning bolt. As for connections, just the hat, a keyboard, monitor and mouse. Below are the links for the Pi I bought and the relay board. When I wrote the post ye...

Re: VERY Basic GUI to Control GPIO Pins?

I can't think of any reason why it would either. I'm not running on VNC or SSH. I've just got a monitor plugged in and programming straight from the desktop. As for my relays, I have one hat stacked directly on the raspberry pi. the hat has 3 relays and I currently only have two wired up for testing...

Desktop will not load

Can somebody please help me with an issue I'm having. My raspberry pi will not load the desktop. It goes all the way through the bootup just fine, but when it's time for the desktop to appear, all I get is a flashing line in the upper left hand corner. I haven't loaded any programs that start on pow...

Re: VERY Basic GUI to Control GPIO Pins?

@rpiMike, Have you had any issues with your desktop since running this code? I've had to reset my pi to default twice since I added the background. The first time I had just saved the program after adding the background and changing the buttons. By changing I mean I just switched the png files. It w...

Re: VERY Basic GUI to Control GPIO Pins?

Lol I had started a forum where I had almost the exact same issues as Sgt Bilko and Mike referred me to this forum. Here's the link to my original post. I found it comical that I had said almost the same thing as Sgt Bilko. Check out my original post. https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php...
