RPi expansion board Mega IO Question

Hello ALL, Can I use the mega IO expansion board for RPi to control 4 Linear actuators or DC Motors, with forward and backward motion. Need help setting up the wiring? The way I set it up smoked the first relay. Linear Actuator 12 VDC current 3.5 Amp Max Songle Relay on the mega IO 10A 250VAC 10A 12...

Re: Wiring multiple 12V induction sensor to Rpi Mega IO Expansion board

The thought here was to not to switch relay but use its opto isolation ability. Since I want to wire 12 sensors I did not want to build a separate breadboard with a 10K and 3.3 k resistor in series to protect the RPi pin. Wiring multiple 12V induction sensor to Rpi Mega IO Expansion board

Hi Guys, I want to connect multiple 12V sensors to a RASPBERRY PI MEGA-IO EXPANSION CARD wiring multiple sensors to relay board.png Two questions I had... 1. Is my wiring diagram correct? (I was going to read mega-IO-header pins 33, 32, 31 and 29 for object detection.) 2. what kind of power supply w...

Re: Raspberry Pi 3 to DBH-12V Motor Controller

The second image was just a test to validate the multi meter reading.
The voltage on the EN pin is what threw me off.

I am going to try using a raspberry Pi relay hat board to control the dc motor.

Here is the latest readings.
The Rpi3 board is kaput. (Its before ...I knew better to test the voltage on the control pins.)

No dice so far from seller.
My plan next is to try using a Raspberry Pi Relay Hat to drive initially 1 dc motor ( to be expanded to 6 dc motors )....thoughts?

So here is my setup.
When an metal object is detected... Is the voltage pulsing very quickly between 0 and 2.835 volts on the analog pin?

what changes should i make to get door open or closed status. ?

Re: Raspberry Pi 3 to DBH-12V Motor Controller

If nothing is connected its at 0 volts
Hooking it to a 12 v battery gives me 12.19 on pins IN1 and IN2.
EN is coming up as - 1.462

Re: Raspberry Pi 3 to 12V Induction sensor

Thanks for the pointers.

A little confused. :?
How do I get it to report open when the analog pin is high and vice versa.

Re: Raspberry Pi 3 to DBH-12V Motor Controller

I am not sure if the power ground needs to be connected to the RPi3 ground.
I did not get any documentation with the board....

I am getting the feeling this was not designed to run a 12 v motor. I need to look up the amp required to run the card window motor.

Re: Raspberry Pi 3 to 12V Induction sensor

I modified my code. GPIO.setmode(GPIO.BCM) GPIO.setup(5, GPIO.IN) while True: if GPIO.input(5): print("open") else: print("Closed") It seems to be switching between open and closed randomly as soon as a jumper cable is hooked to the pin 5 and nothing else. When it is connected to the analog signal o...

Raspberry Pi 3 to 12V Induction sensor

Hi Guys, I am testing an 12 V Induction Sensor( PNP) with a Raspberry pi 3. The sensor is powered with a 12 v battery. On metal detection the signal wire puts out high. test.png With the above breadboard set using the 10K and 3.3K resistor my voltage readings are as follows.... V [in] - 12.27 V [out...

Re: Raspberry Pi 3 to DBH-12V Motor Controller

I did not expect high voltage on the EN pin. But it does not look like the board is damaged. The motor controller board is rated at 5V-12V and the meanwell power supply provides 12V 5 amp. I am not sure where the problem is. https://usa.banggood.com/DC-5-12V-30A-PWM-Dual-Channel-Motor-Control-Module...

Re: Raspberry Pi 3 to DBH-12V Motor Controller

1. Just curious....If the RPi3 was powered via USB and the motor requires 5V will that setup work? 2. In my test case, the motor requires a 12V battery to run the car window motor. After i hooked up the battery, I checked the voltages on the Motor controller board pins EN pin is at 13.65 V V+ pin is...
