Re: Install Python IDE on Raspberry pi 4

IDLE, Thonny, Mu-editor, Geany and others are basically editors. Once the code is working you don't need to keep using them to run the script.
Need to make changes to existing programes, ok seems to work in Thonny.

Thanks

Re: Install Python IDE on Raspberry pi 4

Why do you want to install idle?

Have you tried Thonny?
Had it on pi 3B+, can I just use and run the programs I made on idle with Thonny then?

Raspberry pi 3b with desktop to Max7219 supplying a Kingbright cc56-21SYKWA 8 x 7 segment display, and it works fine most of the time, but sometimes it shows spurious information on a digit. I saw information about using a level converter because the Max7219 requires 3.5 volts for high. I made the c...

Re: Problems using data from a USB stick

The first problem is the result of letting the system (file manager) auto-mount, and can likely be fixed by mounting the drive in /etc/fstab. I don't have an answer for the second problem, other than, don't let the users remove the USB drive. So how do I stop auto-mount? What is the instruction to ...

Re: ejecting removable usb disk

What the SD-card is doing is not "advertised" to the outside, its only happening inside the SD-card, so no there are no LED's you can watch. If you do a regular shutdown the SD-card is notified, and will flush its last data to flash, and then "go to sleep", it won't start a wear levelling session. ...

Are you talking about the starting phase which has a capacitor in series to get it to start, they have main winding and a separate starting winding.

If only using usb to read from and not writing to it, it will not get corrupted if removed without ejecting is that correct?

Yes you are correct there was a copy running in the background. I used auto start to start it at boot up, then when I need to access python IDLE to change code I pressed escape which I thought closed it. The information I had found said just use " root.destroy()" to close a python/Tkinter program, b...
