Re: Looking for community interest in making new sensor board

I'm interested in making a DIY DSLR project out of a Raspberry Pi (likely the Zero Wireless model), and I am wondering how much support I might be able to get to connect a different Sony Exmor sensor (IMX???) with the Raspberry Pi. Currently, I'm looking at the newer models ( https://www.sony-semic...

Re: On Hands and Knees Begging for a proper-Good Camera

Are you able to stream 720p H.264 60fps? Likely. I did run list_format for UC-554 13MP rolling shutter IMX135 first, these are the available modes: mode: 0, width: 1280, height: 720, pixelformat: pRAA, desc: (null) mode: 1, width: 1920, height: 1080, pixelformat: pRAA, desc: (null) mode: 2, width: ...

Re: On Hands and Knees Begging for a proper-Good Camera

Here is a Starvis demo video. (Imx290). https://youtu.be/6gwt7mFOxBs Wow, now I understand why you want WDR/low light support -- a picture says more than 1000 words, from 2:22min of that video: https://stamm-wilbrandt.de/en/forum/outdoor.imx290.png I cannot answer your questions directed to RPF, an...

Re: On Hands and Knees Begging for a proper-Good Camera

Negativity? I apologize if I come across that way. I'm just trying to understand if there is a future road map for the camera CSI port and official cameras. This is for hobby, makers and development. Also, the current platform with RPI it's proven and works really well. It just seems like there are ...

Re: On Hands and Knees Begging for a proper-Good Camera

We are actually not looking for more megapixels... In fact, fewer (e.g 1MP-3MP) with a larger sensor. The Sony Starvis IMX290 and others are an example of what is commonly used in webcams, IP Security Cams, Dash Cameras ADAS vehicle driver assistance etc... Because with fewer pixels combined with a...

Re: On Hands and Knees Begging for a proper-Good Camera

The work that was done years ago with the Broadcom SOC turned out to be an excellent platform. I am sure you are aware that no competitors comes close to the capabilities and low cost of the BCM GPU. Nano pi, Beagle etc... And, most don't even have a MIPI interface. It would be really awesome if th...

Re: On Hands and Knees Begging for a proper-Good Camera

I think the use case is too small for camera devices this specific. Also worth noting it takes some YEARS to go from deciding on a sensor to releasing it. Thank you for the response, The proposed examples of image sensors would not only benefit UAVs, but any application related to robotics, machine...

Re: On Hands and Knees Begging for a proper-Good Camera

If you are adamant that a better camera is absolutely necessary, why not develop the product yourself ?? Crowd funding has brought many products to market. Would love to but the VideoCore GPU is closed source. :( Poppycock !! https://www.arducam.com/use-almost-any-mipi-camera-module-on-raspberry-pi...

Hello, First, I just want to say thank you for all the great things you guys have created, Raspberry Pi has open the door to so many possibilities. With that said my inquiry is focused on the need for a new camera that is better suited for the streaming and UAV drone robotic type applications that ...

Re: On Hands and Knees Begging for a proper-Good Camera

Also, UAV/Drone stuff aside, why do the only available options always have to be the absolute cheapest thing possible? Here is an example of a camera and DVR for $69 but, I'm just trying to share an example of an alternative to the stiff FlatFlex FFC Cable... Many similar cameras that use MIPI inter...

With that said my inquiry is focused on the need for a new camera that is better suited for the streaming and UAV drone robotic type applications that a majority of people use them for. Oddly, I've yet to meet anyone doing this with a Raspberry Pi. How big is your community? I'm trying to understan...

This is a cheap way to get HDMI input to Raspberry Pi.The main chip of the module is Toshiba TC358743XBG. It's usage is exactly the same as the ordinary Raspberry Pi camera.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lYQuocM7VPI This is my first time posting in this forum, just want ask if anyone has successfu...

Re: H264 Keyframe Question

Hi, I was also doing some tests with us on our openHD (Wifibroadcast based system) . It does appear as if latency is reduced by 15-20ms but it's really hard to determine the exact reduction without proper tools. Here is a short video I put together, the first part has Keyframes set to "-1" and the 2...

Pi zero update? And Camera Connector- Always breaks

Hello, I use all of your Raspberry Pi versions primarily for UAV drone video and Telemetry systems. I also noticed that you recently released a Raspberry Pi 4b version... I must say that every time I hear there's a new release I eagerly check to see if you guys have come up with a newer Raspberry Pi...
