Re: Moving 16 servos in a wave

That looks fantastic! Long weekend here in Australia for the queen's birthday, if you can believe that. All the gear is at work so I'll be trying this out first thing Tuesday morning. Thanks.

Moving 16 servos in a wave

I'm trying to write a program which uses the Adafruit 16 servo HAT to control 16 servos in a wave, moving 4 at a time. I have found the code so that one servo moves following a sine wave, but am struggling with applying that to multiple servos. The servos will be arranged as follows (imagine this is...

Issue with ultrasonic sensor

Having some issues getting the DFRobot weatherproof ultrasonic sensor (https://core-electronics.com.au/weatherproof-ultrasonic-sensor-with-separate-probe.html) set up with a Raspberry Pi Zero. I have tried several configurations and variants of code and am getting either unusual or no results. For e...

Re: Ad-hoc network without internet

Thanks I'll give that a whirl. The next step, assuming I get the first step working, will be the communication between the two devices. After some spurious googling I'm thinking of setting up the pis with MQTT using mosquitto and paho to run a python script which updates the tank water level daily. ...

Ad-hoc network without internet

I'd like to use a pi zero connected to a ultrasonic sensor to monitor water level in a tank and broadcast the info to another pi in my home. Ideally, I want to do this without internet. Is it possible to use the tank pi to create an ad-hoc network that can be accessed by the house pi, and send the f...

Re: No ethernet or wireless interfaces

Making progress, thanks everyone for suggestions. I commented out the blacklisted b44s in the modprobe.d directory and ran modprobe b44. After a restart ifconfig -a is now showing eth0 and dmesg has an entry for Ethernet, which previously returned nothing. Still no internet though! Really now I'm ju...

No ethernet or wireless interfaces

Hi all, Just installed the latest release of Desktop on an old Acer laptop. I'm trying to use a bunch of old refurbed laptops to give my students more access to Raspberry Pi desktop. I am having an issue and unable to connect to either ethernet or wifi. Ifconfig returns lo but nothing for eth0 or wl...

Re: Python script for blinkt with openweathermap API

Cheers Andyroo, I went with tuples for the numerical id codes in the end: #tuples to store weather id codes thunder = (200, 201, 202, 210, 211, 212, 221, 230, 231, 232) drizzle = (300, 301, 302, 310, 311, 312, 313, 314, 321) rain = (500, 501, 502, 503, 504, 511, 520, 521, 522, 531) snow = (600, 601,...

Python script for blinkt with openweathermap API

Hi all, Totally new to python and just messing around with a Blinkt! to see what it can do. Apologies for any inadvertent forum faux pas. I have been mucking around with the openweathermap API and the example blinkt_thermo.py and have thus far made a thermometer which changes colour based on tempera...
