Re: Etcher for Raspberry Pi

Which is jolly nice. Agreed. I have successfully used dd for writing images for many years without accidentally targeting the wrong drive, however, I get nervous an accident will happen, especially when using a system with many attached disks. Thanks to the OP for sharing a solution! Thanks!

Re: Etcher for Raspberry Pi

Hello I wanted to run Etcher on my Raspberry Pi ... Why? To copy the active SDCard use the piclone. To write an *.IMG file to an SDCard search the forum and learn how to do it with dd or gzip. The pi is my only computer and I was writing a FreeBSD image to an SD card but didn't want to use DD

Etcher for Raspberry Pi

Hello I wanted to run Etcher on my Raspberry Pi, but the prebuilt app is only for x86 computers. I don't know if this has been made before, but I compiled it (from source on Raspberry Pi 3) and made into a Raspberry Pi Application. Raspbian Startup Sound

Hello

How would you add a startup sound to Raspbian? All hugged I found were for GNOME, and I use MATE.

Thanks

Re: piRoot: A way to run x86 Debian apps on Raspbian

Hello again!

In a previous post, I said I would be taking a break from development. Well, I changed my mind.

piRoot 3 is here! It has some minor changes, and bug fixes. Get it here - skywalkersw5.github.io/piRoot

Who wants to temporarily take over development of piRoot?

I am unable to code piRoot for a few months. In that case, I need someone to develop piRoot since I can't.

Does anyone want to?

Are you using the desktop version of Raspbian? What does "ls -al /usr/lib/arm-linux-gnueabihf/libX11*" say? I am using Raspbian Lite with MATE. Re: piRoot: A way to run x86 Debian apps on Raspbian

piRoot Ubuntu Extension Beta has been released.

This isn't the normal .deb file. Its a zip file that has an install file. This IS a beta, so it is not guaranteed to work. I won't make a .deb file until the beta proves not to be a failure.

Re: disable emulationstation from boot

I don't know for sure, but try going into the RetroPie settings ( the one that looks like raspi-config), go to Advanced Settings, and I think its EmulatonStation or boot or startup or something like that config. That should show some settings about Startup.

Re: Automated Installer for Google Drive

This is pretty cool. I am currently making a program that lists a bunch of free software (if you have used DietPi, similar to the dietpi-config) to install. Do you mind if I use this in it?

Re: piRoot: A way to run x86 Debian apps on Raspbian

Any time I try to do a chroot of Debian Buster on the Rpi it gives me Qemu: Segmentation fault or something like that. It works on Stretch though. So when I try to update from Stretch it won't go past getting the headers. Can anyone tell me why?

Re: piRoot: A way to run x86 Debian apps on Raspbian

Putting what you are working on behind something one has to sign-up to, even just to view it, is IMO a retrograde step, is more likely to reduce interest in what you are doing than increase it. You don’t have to join the discord to get piRoot, it’s more for beta testers. I also have it because it’s...

From a google search, it says to try to update your machine. That probably isn't the answer, but I would suggest trying it.
