You could also use your Pi to control LED strips, electronics in general.
Maybe an Alexa type of thing should be nice too..

Good luck!

Re: Launch sh script from php page

Your shell_exec function should look like this:

Code: Select all

$output = shell_exec("sh your-script.sh");
Keep in mind that this is a HUGE security breach! Dont use it unless you are making a private server!
Dont forget to make the script executable.
Good luck!

Re: Restoring Access to a hacked rpi

Those kind of attacks can easily be automated. That means the IP the attack is from doesn't really matter. In fact, its pretty common to see infected PCs scan for open ports on the internet. Once they find an open SSH port, they try to login using default credentials commonly used on Linux flavored ...

If you want a SEO friendly website tho, you should setup a redirect using .htaccess instead.

Re: is the pi worth it?

For youtube, Dailymotion,Twitch,Liveleak... use kodi (you can install it ontop of raspbian if you want to)
Facebook is a pain to run. Instagram, messenger and telegram works well tho. Discord isnt bad.

Ive been using this Pi as my main computer for over 3 years now, no problems so far.

If the board you mentionned is compatible with the Pi A+, go with the A+. A Pi3B+ is a little too overkilled.

Good luck!

Geany is your best bet here. Syntax highlighting, compile buttons and more.
Lets not forget the fact that it comes preinstalled on full Raspbian ;)

Re: CSS not linking with Apache 2 Server

Id rather put the stylesheet inside /var/www/html/style.css. Why? Because if you want to upload your code to another server, you wont be forced to set new permissions again. With those changes in place, your CSS markup should look like this: <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="style.css"> H...

200 active users? Per day? Lets say those 200 users loads atleast (and im optimistic) 5 pages/day. That gives us around 1000 page loads/day. Since all of your pages will be running off PHP, they'll get slow on high demand hours, since your Pi will be struggling with CPU usage. Youll also need a good...
