Use USB Webcam video feed on http site

Hi All, I've setup a home project where I use my pi to control my garage door. As part of the setup it has a section where you can monitor the video feed from a USB webcam via a URL (http://webcamurl:8081). I use motion to monitor the video feed But the drawback is that it's constantly on. I was won...

Re: Unable to start lighttpd service on boot

You could try renaming /tmp/garage-fcgi.sock But I would check the security on the /home/pi folders in the blocks I showed with ls -l Not sure what you mean by renaming /tmp/garage-fcgi.sock which folder in particular do you want me to check the permissions to Also when I tried to run through the s...

Re: Unable to start lighttpd service on boot

Hi, It’s going to be a long haul till I’m OK - some good days :) so not :twisted: One thing that did strike me is this two blocks: fastcgi.server = ("/" => (( "socket" => "/tmp/garage-fcgi.sock", "bin-path" => "/home/pi/GaragePi-work/start_webserver.fcgi", "check-local" => "disable", "max-procs" =>...

Sorry to say health has gone downhill and I’m not going to be able to look at this tonight - thought it was better to let you know rather than hanging.
That's okay man. Hope you feel better soon

Thanks for trying

Regards,
Arul.

Re: Unable to start lighttpd service on boot

Your date is different to mine. Can you run lighttpd -v Mine comes back with lighttpd/1.4.45 (ssl) - a light and fast webserver Build-Date: Jan 14 2017 21:07:19 I need to be in a desktop to go through your file though - the iPad is too small so I’ll set my machine up later for you if I can stay awa...

Re: Unable to start lighttpd service on boot

Odd I’m not great at lighttpd as I’m learning but it reads ok unless I’m missing something - can you run ls -l /var/log/ | grep light for me please? You should get something like: pi@pihole:~ $ ls -l /var/log/ | grep light drwxr-x--- 2 www-data www-data 4096 Apr 7 06:25 lighttpd There is no need to...

Re: Unable to start lighttpd service on boot

Have you done anything with the /var/log folder? There needs to be a folder /var/log/lighttpd in there for lighttpd to use and www-data needs full access. (You can break pi-hole this way :roll: ) Quick google search seem to suggest that I need to update my lighttpd.conf file But I'm unsure what to ...

Re: Unable to install pyzmq and RPi.GPIO from requirements.txt

The latest version of RPi.GPIO is 0.6.5. The version you are trying to install is 0.5.11, which is four years old. This is not your immediate problem however but it shows just how out of date the project instructions are. Things to try: 1) sudo apt install python3-dev 2) Change requirements.txt to ...
