Re: Adobe discontinuing Flash for mobile

Flash as used in web page is the problem. If the browser (using the web page) is open source, but Flash isn\'t, you can\'t be confident that they could be made to work together well.

Re: No OS news?

I hope that the (really helpful) facility put up by the distro group in deploying support for RP users will be considered in the choice of "official" distro.

Re: Scope of RasPi project in education

<r>I agree with the idea of RP making available a core computing platform which educators may use for their own purpose. That would imply RP + OS will be sufficient. The foundation's personnel may want to get involved in educational projects of their own choosing, but that should be their own decisi...
So what do you need the binary for?
Just trying to gather information about the essential software for the R-Pi for distro development. But if that binary is embedded in hardware, then you\'re right, no need to keep looking.

I am lost, too, trying to find (for download) the GPU binary used for booting the RaspberryPi.

Re: For use in developing countries?

Here is a starting link to resources that use Puppy Linux for education (they contain what the original post asked for). You can try them on 256-MB RAM Pentium II PC. Burn the ISO slowly (4X) to CD and boot the PC with the CD. Puppy Linux is being developed for the RaspberryPi.

Re: Free Pascal compiler for the Pi (freepascal.org)

Of course, Flash as used in browsers was the problem. There is no problem running Flash video using the media players of 2007 and later.

<t>It's great to see Free Pascal in the RaspberryPi. Welcome, Tom. I wonder how many of your ebooks can be freely shared. They can find home in an R-Pi SD card.

<t>Thanks, asb. I hope that you appreciate what we are trying to do here which is to gather ideas about how Puppy Linux can be made to work in The RaspberryPi. I've seen the Armel packages of Debian, but in terms of making a lightweight build, do you have any particular idea, say, a package list? TI...
